Taken from SteamDB:
Quoterootoverrides/1/addpath:
rootoverrides/1/os: Linux
There is no Linux content depot yet by the looks of it, Linux is also not in the "oslist" or anything else. It's very little to go on right now, so I really don't suggest buying it. The usual rule applies: don't buy it until it's actually officially out.
About the game (Official)
The acclaimed First-Person Shooter returns fully upgraded, and more beautifully challenging than ever. Hard Reset Redux is a brand new version of the cyberpunk classic that includes all the content of previous editions, and adds new improved gameplay, enhanced visuals and additional content to make this the Definitive Edition of Hard Reset.
Hard Reset Redux is an action-packed and hardcore single-player shooter which embraces the best qualities that the genre has it offer. It includes over-the-top destruction, loads of enemies, great weapon variety, a challenging campaign and a beautifully realized cyberpunk setting. Having been originally developed to shake-up the shooter scene on PC, Hard Reset now returns to do it again on a new generation of hardware.

It doesn't show up in SteamDB hints, how did you manage to spot that one?

You misunderstood my question, I know there is the change in SteamDB but since it doesn't show up [here](https://steamdb.info/linux/hints/) unless you are looking for it you are not going to find it. I'm impressed that you reported on the news quite fast despite that.

I couldn't wait and already bought it, 85% off and with shadow warrior port being so good they deserve my trust =P

I've heard good things about the original game. I might scoop it up if it does indeed get ported.

Getting it if they release it on Linux.

Honestly, at 3€ it's a bargain. The Hard Reset "classic" works very well under Linux using WINE and Mesa, tried to install the Redux edition, but requires DirectX 10 (the Steam store requirements are wrong).
I hope they'll port the game to Linux, will be amazing: I enjoyed playing it, it's so '90.

If i buy shadow warrior on GOG and link it to steam even if its the windows version on GOG will the Linux version be available to play via steam ?
No. That is not how GOG connect works...
i mean i didn’t think that, but seen as sometimes games are on Steam way before GOG for the Linux version i wanted to check because by the same token games soon to be out on Linux can end up on GOG first for windows.
Thanks

If it's got a good story, then it's worth looking into for me.

Jim Sterling likes it too; so I suppose it's a good game.

I played quite a bit of Hard Reset on Wine a while ago, it was almost flawless except that after each level the game froze and needed to be restarted (it's very possible that now it won't freeze if using the newest Wine). Everything else was good, I liked the stylish cyberpunk-neon atmosphere and some puzzles, the upgrade system and enemies, etc. But that freeze got me after all and I dropped the game. Looks like it may be the time to give it another go!

According to my records I originally finished this under Windows 7 back in 2011, as I did dual-boot with Windows 7 up until around mid-2012. But I also remember running this under Wine back around 2013 with Nvidia drivers on a GTX660M, and I recall it running amazingly well.
Normally you would only expect great performance from a game like this when the engine uses OpenGL, but I do not believe that was the case for Hard Reset. Quite impressive! I am aware there is some minor graphical corruption (in parts of the menu at least) when playing the original using fglrx and AMDGPU-Pro, but that's sadly not too unusual for AMD drivers with Wine.
In any case, I'll pick this up as soon as a GNU/Linux version is released. I recall it being a relatively short game (under 8 hours I think), which I actually appreciate since I don't have a lot of free time these days.

I would buy it but it was in some humble bundle in the past so I already own it :/
Maybe I'll buy it additionally on GOG when it is out :)

So is this still coming to Linux? The steamdb URL only shows Windows.
I picked it up on a heavy discount since i own Shadow Warrior but i definitely ain't going to boot into Windows to play this. Heck, i have a Windows license for free (Windows 10 Pro) and i don't even use it.
Update : Is it under rootoverrides for the FS? Just as an update, when i try to install this, it says the platform isn't supported.

I think the save path overrides is still too little for the evidence that the game is going to Linux, configuration options, on the other hand, is a strong one (and there are none). But the engine was ported once for Shadow Warrior and it was a damn good port overall bringing it to HR wouldn't be problematic.

Seems like Flying Wilg Hog give a lifetime discount for Shadow Warrior's AND/OR Hard Reset's owners.
It's a great game and after doing it, I only want to get a better rig and do it again. Story isn't Half-Life kind of huge but it's still nice (I hope they kept the comics cutscenes).

I'm itching to buy this, especially since Doom is still a no-show. Hurry up and port it already! :D

I'm not aware of any plans to port HR to Steam. HR isn't popular enough to justify the Linux port.
