Feral Interactive have updated their teaser radar to show that Life Is Strange is coming to Linux/SteamOS and Mac. The only official announcement for now is Mac App Store, but it is now confirmed to be coming to Linux. We already sort of knew this thanks to SteamDB info

Looks like it was the "Drifting Snows" teaser they sent out in April.

Oh Feral, how we love you.

About the game (Official)
Life Is Strange is a five part episodic game that sets out to revolutionise story based choice and consequence games by allowing the player to rewind time and affect the past, present and future.

You are Max, a photography senior who saves her old friend Chloe by discovering she can rewind time. The pair soon find themselves exposed to the darker side of Arcadia Bay as they uncover the disturbing truth behind the sudden disappearance of a fellow student.

Meanwhile, Max begins to have premonitions as she struggles to understand the implications of her power. She must quickly learn that changing the past can sometimes lead to a devastating future. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I can not count the times I struggeled to resist buying this game for Windows/Wine.
Now I am happy that I did wait. I'll keep my wallet at the ready.

Life is Strange was an amazing game, but I'm not sure I want to play it again. For me, this might just be a case of being late for the party.

It means teaser "Drifting Snows" was about Life is Strange. For me it's weird and it is super disappointing. I was expecting DIRT: Rally and it looks it is not ported by Feral (maybe it is not ported at all).
If this teaser was not about DIRT: Rally I assume DOOM is also not the one that was announced with "808 SB12S" clue. Disappointing.

Well I still do hope for Dirt as well. I will be happy playing Life is strange with my wife, but then Dirt would be just for me. Do not loose hope as SteamDB kind of hints Dirt is also coming.

And meanwhile, all the ppl waiting for Dirt, consider this pool:

Solid metascore on this one. Look forward to play it!

Great news to see another great title coming to Linux. This is easily one of the best adventure games ever made, and would probably -the- best, had the writers refrained from adding such a uninspired and totally foreseeable ending to an otherwise awesome story.

Can we have Fallout 4 next, Feral? :D

Finished this on Windows! Can't wait for it to come to Linux! Will play it through again`

About DOOM, if "they" wanted to bring it to Linux, then it would surely be done in-house by ID Software. After-all the engine is based on OpenGL (and Vulkan support has been shown too), and Doom3 had a Linux client released by them too. I think Doom is stopped by marketing/sales only.

iD of today doesn't have much in common with the iD from ten years ago.

i also do hope that dirt rally is still coming and is relatively soon..

life is strange seems fine also, but nothing amazing for me sadly

I wonder how Linux gaming would look like without a Feral guys. I would like to thank them and as well wish for many ports to come in the feature. :)

Feral, can you please stop porting games I already own and played using WINE? Thank you!

Please bring us: Sleeping Dogs DE, Batman, Deus Ex: HR, Hitman, or whatever you already ported to Mac OS X that's not a RTS game that I don't own.

Cheers,
My wallet

maybe you can put the list of your games on advance, so they can work on it...

Or you could stop using wine and play things that are on linux already. My backlog of native linux games is longer that I would like already :)

You are right.

I'm having this backlog drama: 450 games, 305 running on Linux, the ones I actually want to play are the other 145...

A pity it's Square Enix, so no DRM-free release is to be expected. The game sounds interesting, but it's another in the list I'll skip.

It's looking like all of Feral's games will be Steam games, you're missing out on a lot.

Possible, but I'm not sure if Feral are on purpose actively looking to work only on DRMed games, or it's just a coincidence? In general, the vast majority of Japanese publishers are DRM inclined, even worse than US or European ones.
