Minecraft is still going at a slow pace. Minecraft 1.10 has just been released which includes new blocks and mobs.

Changelog
- Many bug fixes
- Added Polar Bear
- Added Husk and Stray
- An auto-jump option
- Improvements to some commands
- Structure blocks for custom maps
- Underground fossils made from bone blocks
- Added Magma Block
- Added Nether Wart Block and Red Nether Bricks
- Some huge mushrooms can be even larger
- A rare chance to find lonely trees in plains
- Find abandoned mineshafts filled with gold in mesa biomes
- Villages generate better paths between the buildings
- More variations of villages, based on the biomes they are built in
- Endermen have been spotted in the Nether
- Removed Herobrine

I still think it's crazy how popular the game is with how many millions it has sold.

We used to run a server for it a few years ago, had some pretty good times on it, but the game lost its charm after a while for me. My Son loves it though, I imagine to a younger audience it must be incredible.

What I think is more crazy, is that they still don't have a mod API sorted properly for it.

See the release announcement here.

Still playing it off and on. I had no idea Herobrine actually made it into the game?! That has to be a joke about his removal?

It is a joke they have had that line in every patch note for the past 3 years now

I'm 20 and still love it, 4 years since I originally bought it. Amazing game, best played with friends, in my opinion.

Wow, I wasn't expecting another update for Minecraft. That's great news.

Polar bears? I LOVE polar bears!

There're people way older than you are that still greatly enjoy Minecraft, believe me. ;-)

Kinda surprising to see this version release so soon considering that the last one took over a year. :D Heh, nice, gonna try it soon. Unfortunately I played a lot of MC last month and now I'm bored of it :( I loved MC a few years ago and I was very dedicated to it, even owner some servers... but now none of my friends play it and I don't really enjoy it as much when I play it alone :( Also lately I've been playing it single-player which is even more boring but it's the most I can do considering I live in a uni dorm with all ports blocked except for browsing.

last time I played was when bukkit was still around, I quit playing when they started taking bukkit down. I don't have a clue what they were thinking. The community provides a lot of support and keeps the online community going, and mojang just takes it down.

Ironically, the only people who are adamant that Minecraft is for kids are those who were recently children/young teens. That said, I am pleased to see Minecraft still works well on Linux even though it is owned by Microsoft. I can only wonder how much longer this version equality will last and so I've been cozying up real close to Minetest lately.
