Nidhogg is a rather popular little action gaming about what look like stick figures doing some fencing.

From their Steam post:
QuoteWe've been working on a Linux port for 64 bit systems. It does not currently work-- there is an issue with control inputs as well as menus, so best to hold off on trying it until further notice-- thanks!

About the game
Nidhogg is the epic award-winning fencing tug-of-war, full of graceful acrobatics and clumsy stabs. IRL yelling and excitement may occur, in this ultimate two-player showdown of fast-paced fencing and melee attacks.

Beware, advantages in Nidhogg are often fleeting, as new opponents continually spawn in your way. Use a variety of fencing maneuvers while armed -- lunges, parries, and even dirty tricks like throwing your sword. If swordless, press forward with punches, sweep kicks, dive kicks, rolls, and wall jumps. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

This game reminds me of just a tiny part of the game Broadsides. If you haven't ever played that, please find it on an emulator and do so! This is a game that is screaming for a remake!

Imagining that with graphics like Winward and multiplayer makes me smile. May have to fire up my Atari 130XE soon and play it again.

more on topic, pretty sure I got this game through humble bundle previously. Good to hear it's coming to Linux!

Yeah this is awsome :D
I love local multiplayer games and this one seems particulary fun to play. For now it has been "no tux no bucks" for me but if tux there is... bucks there will be :P
