I have to say it has been a long time since I played any form of PAC-MAN, now maybe I will. PAC-MAN 256 was released on Steam with day-1 Linux support.

It's actually a port of a free to play mobile game, but all the free to play junk was taken out as it's a paid Steam game. People seem to be liking it too, so that's great news for us.

It's also interesting to see more BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment published games come to Linux. Small steps, but steps nevertheless.

About the game
PAC-MAN 256 is the maze that never ends. But the Glitch is coming for you…

- Challenge your friends with local co-op multiplayer mode, up to 4 players
- Waka waka on PAC-DOTS and stay ahead of the super-villain: The Glitch
- Take on a new gang of revived retro-ghosts including Sue, Funky, and Spunky
- Outsmart them with over 20 ridiculous power ups: Laser, Tornado, Giant and much more
- Spice up your game with 10 different themes

I totally added this high up on my wishlist and deleted 40 games and reorganized my list in prepartion for the steam sale.

It looks like a blast. It's nice to see more full controller support games and local co-op too.

Nice! I love Pacman even though I didn't play it for at least a decade. I don't think it will be on sale since it has just been released. Let's wait and see.

Just bought it, the game is very good. Too bad they do not provide the great music from Pacman DX...

Just unleashed the game on my son and daughter and a friend.. coop on a single machine is hard when your <= 9 (and not used to it like our generation).

Good, cheap fun!

One of the developers, 3 Sprockets, was an early Linux adopter for their Cubemen series, as well as working hard to support their Linux userbase for their user-generated-content-oriented mini-ARPG Fight the Dragon, so, while happy, I'm not too surprised to see PM256 getting day-1 support.

Looks way better than the phone version.

Bought because Pac-Man / Bandai Namco / Linux. Runs great, plays well, looks way better than old Pac-Man.
