You will need to enter a password to get into the beta, but it's available to all. See Ethan's post announcing it here.
You can report issues to this forum.
The reviews are really positive and the style of it is really quite fantastic, might have to fork out for it myself.
About the game
A doomed sailor is shipwrecked on an uncharted island. In fog-shrouded valleys, where grinning, mossy corpses cling to rusted arms, shambling figures begin to stir. Beneath crumbling, salt-worn structures, labyrinthine passageways lead to unspeakable evil, long forgotten by man.
Salt and Sanctuary seamlessly combines fast, brutal, and complex 2D combat with richly developed RPG mechanics. Discover, craft, and upgrade over 600 weapons, armor pieces, spells, and items as you explore a cursed realm of forgotten cities, blood-soaked dungeons, desecrated monuments, and the fallen lords they once celebrated.

Added this to wishlist. This looked like descent 2D Dark Souls-que game. Nice to see it coming to Linux.

PFFFT, "flibitIsBadAtSoulsGames", this guy XD (Do read the post before buying though :U). Will buy :D
Yep, you'll have to buy it. If you wish to do so, get the password from the post, and there's also a guide within to enter the beta :)

No problems in-game so far ^^ Rough around the edges, but seems like a solid game; hopefully it can keep me distracted for a bit while I try to resist picking up Dark Souls 3 for PS4 until it goes on sale :P
I do have a bug (which I reported!) where setting the game in borderless or windowed makes a small window that's cropped. However, Flibit doesn't seem to have this issue, so it could be something specific to my set up?

I have total confidence in Mr. Lee's porting skills, and this seems like something I might enjoy. Won't buy a beta but I'll keep a close eye on the game.

Maybe install and test with one of the light alternatives like xfwm, awesome or one of the *boxes?

I will definitely buy this game once it officially hits Linux and becomes available on GOG!

Turned out to be a weird edge-case bug with FNA, has now been patched :)
