A developer of Titan Quest commented on their Steam page that they will be looking into Linux and Mac support. Great news, as another positively received RPG would be great for us.
Speaking on this announcement, a developer commented (the same developer who created that announcement if you need proof):
QuoteWe will certainly look into a Mac and Linux port.
Never played the Titan Quest games myself, but they do seem to be rather popular. The name rings a bell though, am I missing something big with this one? Tell me how silly I am for not knowing in the comments.
Thanks for letting me know kilbith.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: BOYSSSSSDidn't expect that one coming. Love this game, played it a lot back in the day. Will be looking forward to a Linux port, thou I thought it was abandoned long ago.The poor sales were blamed on piracy. The game had a number of copy protection checks that would cause it to suddenly exit to desktop if a check ever failed. Unfortunately, a lot of pirates mistook these for crashes and complained about it on the forums (of course without mentioning that they were playing a pirated copy), and so the game developed a reputation for being buggy.
Least that's the story the developers have told.

Wow didn't know about that. I think I have the CDs of Titan Quest and Immortal Throne somewhere, but I see the game is being updated now, so I'll wait till a Linux port is released so I can show my support.
EDIT: I remember it was a solid game, no bugs or anything, at least for me.

:D Nice I may have not wasted my money then! Hopefully this does get a port.
I bought the game and expansion a few months ago on a disc to play with wine. (turns out they failed to mention on the case it was the steam version, and i haven't been able to play it yet)

Nice! Awesome news! Titan quest is one of the best Hack'n slash out there !

That would be great, though I'd prefer Grim Dawn, the spiritual sequel to Titan Quest.

Titan Quest is an amazing game. The thing to bear in mind is that it is a game from 2007, yet it set a technical bar for Diablo 3 to beat, which it at best matched - 6 years later.
As for copy protection, 1.3 patch removed the requirement for CD to be in the drive.

Now that I know this exists I'm not sure I can live without it...

I don't care about the old Titan Quest.
I do care about Grim Dawn...
*fingers crossed*

Finished that game nine years ago. It was solid, but that genre doesn't hold my attention any more.
