What are you playing this weekend?

By -
It's the weekend already? Oh goodie! Time to dust off that game collection you've been neglecting due to work, school, family or whatever. Tell me what you're playing and what you think to it.

I am going to be playing a mixture of different games, but I am looking forward to properly diving back into XCOM 2 tonight which I have sadly let collect e-dust on Steam while I've been so busy with everything else.

XCOM 2 is just such a cracking time sink and all around great strategy game, love it.

I will also be playing Ballistic Overkill with the IRC crew tonight, so come join the fun. Might even livestream it so keep an eye on our Twitch to watch the silliness. Warning: We use rather colourful language when playing games online together. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I bought too much in the GOG summer sale and also had to renew my CrossOver subscription.. my SO isn't happy about that ;)

Right now I play Prince of Persia (2008) and Stellaris. I also installed Jade Empire.. because of nostalgic reasons..

Prince of Persia is, to my surprise, really good. I hadn't high expectations for a game where you can't die.. but it's perfect after a stressful day and I love the graphic style. The story couldn't be more stereotype and full of troops but I don't play the game for the story at all. ;)

Stellaris... is a drug and I can't escape it. I also created my first mod for the game... I changed the main theme with the German intro song of the old cartoon show "Captain Future" View video on youtube.com

Well Jade Empire was one of my most beloved Bioware games. I loved the Chinese/Asia setting and to my surprise the game has aged well.

Much like every weekend, I play Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition with my brother via local co-op/split screen. I use the Steam Controller and he uses the xbox 360 one (he finds the steam controller too big and weird with it's touchpad, I love it enough I bought a second one). Otherwise this weekend, I've been 'playing' rebuild the OS on my Commodore Amiga 4000D, getting the transferring of software over to my Atari Mega STe, and now I'll be playing 'getting my laundry done.'

Somewhere in between that, I'll probably squeeze in some Vive game play. I was going to play through Pillars of Eternity, but since I'm currently working on DOSEE, I didn't want to get story lines mixed up. It's already quite similar to the story line from Ultima 7. Start out with a murder, some weird cult, etc. Then again, why not copy some ideas from what many consider as the best RPG of all time?

Playing it with local co-op is awesome, Crazy hard sometimes though when you accidentally fry your own team with a firefly spell... quick save often...

I'm gonna be honest... I bought Overwatch, and I can't stop playing it! So this pretty much breaks my 3+ year streak of only buying games that support Linux :-(. I just couldn't help it... It's soooo good.

Quoting: mcphail
Quoting: wojtek881) I've finally made my dualshock 4 controller to work with Don't Starve Together in wireless mode. The problem is that it does not work correctly with Steam in big picture (from time to time overlay kicks in, in big picture sometimes controller starts to behave like y-axis is moved down, and in general it starts to be unusable)

By any chance, are you having issues with your keyboard or mouse being wrongly detected as a controller? I had this issue, and Steam Big Picture mode would behave as if my XB360 controller was always pressing "up". I fixed it by using a udev blacklist for my wireless keyboard/mouse.
Just so you know, I bought Divinity original sin on gog with a 50% reduction on Friday during their summer sale. don't know if it's still there though.

Quoting: wojtek88Hmm honestly I don't know. I've applied both fixes from your link and none of them worked. I don't see a way to determine if that's the problem I'm having.

What I also see is that whenever I press the "X" button on the controller, Steam behaves like it would be permanently pressed and launches a first game in the list of recently played. After I close the game it seems to work fine for a while.

@mcphail any ideas from your side?

Sorry. No further ideas, I'd had similar issues with the XB360 controller with the xpad driver, but we've tracked those down and it is fixed in the most recent version. I assume the PS4 controller driver doesn't share any code with xpad?
