Update: Just tested myself after a report and it is downloadable and playable right now!

It is a little on the glitchy side though:

I've noticed other assets missing in the floor at times too.

Day of Infamy, the spin-off game from the mod of Insurgency that's being turned into a full game should launch on Linux soon!

Note: The game is in Early Access, so remember it will have issues.

It has already launched for Windows and Mac, but Linux had a bit of a delay. Thankfully, it seems not for much longer:
QuoteAlso, we are not using Coherent for now, OSX version is already up and Linux should be soon if it is not already.

I'm excited to get into it, as Day of Defeat which it's inspired by was a really great game I put lots of hours into.

About the game
Experience intense close-quarters battles in iconic WWII settings. Day of Infamy is a teamwork-oriented shooter which aims to be a continuation and evolution of the original Day of Defeat mod released in 2001 - brought to you by the creators of Insurgency.

Intense core infantry mechanics and a simplified HUD create a highly visceral and immersive experience. With a reinforcement wave system tied to objectives, the game maintains an emphasis on teamwork and coordination.

Great to see this join Allied Assault and Tripwire's entries into the WWII genre! I'm guessing you don't need Insurgency installed in order to play?

No it's a standalone game.

You need Insurgency to play the mod. But this a standalone independent version, based on the mod, but with more features and stuff like, flamethrower, new maps and game modes.

The Question is, if it's playable on Linux, but not 'SteamOS approved', does it count as a Linux sale?
Or should I rather wait a bit?

Also, if any of you already have Insurgency, I'd recommend buying the New World Collection instead of the game alone ;)

Guys, common sense here. If you can download and play it on Linux they will of course see that on their stats.

Can't wait to get my new PC and play this game :D tho I will have to wait a few months for that :( and then make up for a massive backlog of awesome games. It's really amazing how many good games came to Linux in the past 1-2 years that I couldn't play because of my hardware. It was pretty sad for me, seeing the Linux gaming "revolution" happening but not really being a part of it, except for the indie games of course (which too are quite cool, some of them)

Day of Infamy is based on the same source engine like Insurgency?

Edit: Ahh I see, the same engine. So should work fine even on my AMD machine :)

I think that calling for "common sense" when trying to predict Steam platform reporting might be giving too much credit.
