Here's a reason I usually tell you not to take SteamDB entries as confirmation of a Linux version. The Hard Reset Redux developers have stated it is not coming to Linux as it hasn't been popular enough for a port.
From the post:
QuoteI'm not aware of any plans to port HR to Steam. HR isn't popular enough to justify the Linux port.
A shame, but not everything works out in our favour.
Nothing to see here, move along, move along.

Thats not the way how marketing works and is totally wrong for the developers to thing like that!
The game isnt very popular but Linux/Mac gamers actually want to play new games, so by releasing your game on both mac and Linux you have like 3m extra clients to try your new product.
I am not saying that you will sell 3m copies but you will get a lot of benefits as a developer doing that ports.
Hard Reset Redux it costs 3$ if you are a previous owner of Hard Reset

Pretty sad! This title was quite high on my "most-wanted" list.
I too feel that the reasoning about "popularity=porting" seems kind of weird. On windows, this is a small fps title that competes with the recently released "Doom" and many other similar high profile fps games. On linux this would be a high profile singleplayer fps in itself and would recieve much more attention by gamers. It wouldn´t have much more actual competition than the "Half-Life" and the "Metro" games (that surely every single linux-gamer must have played through)

Exactly. One can easily say that it is not popular enough for a redux version either. But that is exactly why it makes sense to reach out to new markets that are not yet saturated. Like Linux gaming.
Anyway, I certainly hope that somebody in the company does have plans for the Linux version or that they will change their mind. I love FPS games and this would be an instant buy for me.

I suppose they could've meant they aren't making enough to make/support other ports. Not great, but at least the reasoning is "Game X not popular enough to support linux", and not the other way 'round for once :P

They are Devs not marketeers, that's why companies have marketing employees and end up selling a whole lot more.

Coming up next: "our game is pretty bad, you don't really want it on your superb system". ;-)

I was looking forward to getting this to fill the void left by not having D44M coming to Linux :(

Oh well, other companies want my money, so they're the ones who will get it.

I got the Redux version on GOG for 1,59 USD, because I have Shadow Warrior 2013... And I have the original DRMFREE thanks to Desura..
For what I saw in comparative gameplays, the original version looks better and it runs on several linux distros via wine/crossover...
Now, is this statement coming from the people at Flying Wild Hog or from the people of Gambitious Digital Entertainment?

Well... Windows isn't popular enough in this house to justify me buying Windows games. I'm buying Linux games only and I buy a lot, too bad you won't have my money.

Whaat?! I was expecting this game!
Sad news
If you didn't posted anything in the steam forum about the port please do it

Maybe that way they'll change their mind about the port and popularity of the game.

Oh it will be, it has no icons yet, but has the Linux system requirements. Don't donate anything until official support is confirmed though!

Seems an odd choice. Our game isn't making money so we won't open it up to an even wider userbase to try to make more money. I get what their saying but I seem this costing them more than they stand to lose by porting it to lackluster Linux sales.

I was wondering if I should buy it, 3$ promo price is pretty cheap, good thing I decided to wait.
