Zoetrope Interactive, makers of the well received Lovecraftian horror game "Darkness Within" (not available for Linux), have recently announced their next game "Conarium" and responded today on Twitter that, apart from a Mac OS version, this upcoming game will indeed also come to Linux!

"Conarium" looks to be an exploration type horror game, similar to Amnesia, deep in Lovecraft lore (the game was previously called "Mountains of Madness" and later "Transcend") and seems to be a loose adaptation of the short story "At the Mountains of Madness".

Zoetrope Interactive gives the following plot description:
QuoteAs Frank Gilman, a member of the Anthropology Department in the Miskatonic University, you have taken part in the Upuaut expedition led by Dr. Faust, attempting to pass beyond the limits of human consciousness by using a device called Conarium.
When you find yourself regaining consciousness, you are alone in the Antarctic expedition base, and you remember nothing. Soon you will discover that having used the device during the expedition, you have died but then returned subtly changed, speaking of strange memories and of strange places. You have lost something important or gained something sinister…

Explore the antarctic base, as well as dreams and visions. Study clues, unlock secrets, experience alternate realities, but avoid macabre beings present there at all cost.

An older teaser video should also give clues to the general tone of the game:

How awesome. Such a shame that the other games aren't on Linux. A missed opportunity, because I'd have bought them!

Also, perfect since I read the story a while ago still in 2016. I can only wonder for now...

Added it to the GOG wishlist. Love Lovecraftian games.

I thought the trailer was bland, confusing and difficult to identify with any kind of video game expectation I could have.

Well, it's just a teaser :) Based on their previous game, the description of game play and the engine used here, I think it's safe to assume something akin to Amnesia/SOMA.

"Explore the antarctic base, as well as dreams and visions. Study clues, unlock secrets, experience alternate realities, but avoid macabre beings present there at all cost."
