The developer of the Siralim games has announced that Siralim 2 is now available on Linux & SteamOS via Steam.

Note: The game is currently in Early Access, so it will have bugs and incomplete features.

Out of 106 reviews 97% are positive which is a good early indicator. Checking over the reviews people have put quite a lot of time into it too, so it must be good.

I do love a good monster catching game and I am really surprised how few games we have that are like this. I would have thought many more developers would be trying to create monster catching games on PC.

About the game (Official)
Siralim 2 is an old-school monster catching RPG. Summon and customise hundreds of creatures to fight for you as you battle your way through endless dungeons. Find rare treasure and use it to upgrade your castle, empower your creatures, craft powerful artifacts, learn new spells, and much more.

Siralim 2 never ends. There's an infinite amount of content, and absolutely no limits or level caps of any kind. Intrigued?

Actually i have a problem to install the game.

Steam opens the usual window, "Creating local game cashe file", then... then... then... It crashes so far 3 times, and even Steam crashed in the process once.

I tried from my PlayOnLinux Steam for Windows installation, and i don't have troubles.

Linux Mint 17.3 XFCE 64bits

If i try from a Terminal, i get this :

Running Steam on linuxmint 17.3 64-bit

On their website they say all platforms will be DRM free except for PS4 and PS Vita so hopefully the Linux version will go DRM free after it is out of Early Access.

Reminds me of Azure Dreams, an utterly brilliant monster-training, dungeon-crawling RPG from the PSX era. Something to keep my eye on for sure!

I only post this because, if you are going to make a game that is similar, you should ask yourself one main question: "am I better than / unique from" ToM'E?

If the answer is "yes", then rock on with your bad self.

Looks good. It reminds me a lot of the old gameboy dragon warrior monsters games.
