The Linux beta version of Arma 3 (which still isn't officially supported) has been updated once again.
Today we've updated the Linux & Mac experimental ports to version 1.58. Kudos to @virtualprog. More Intel: https://t.co/BdQzkTwFOC - Enjoy!

This is version 1.58, so it's not currently as up to date as the Windows version. This means you won't be able to play online with your Windows pals just yet unless they are using the same version.
It looks like this version now has BattlEye anti-cheat enabled for Linux gamers, so at least we can play on servers using it now.
You can see what the 1.58 update did for Arma 3 on this official update post (released for Windows in April).
Issues
Sadly, I still have a major issue with the game.
The textures option is buggy for me, in the way that it won't let me pick the level of textures that I want. Half the time it will only display Low textures, and if I do manage to get the other levels to appear in the box, selecting them will only work for a few moments before it drops back down again (can actually see it dropping down in-game sometimes if I manage to do it). I even did a video to demonstrate the issue:
Direct Link
I believe I am one of only a few who have the issue, but it makes the port unplayable for me. As I really don't want to play a game like Arma 3 with my 980ti on Low.
You can find Arma 3 on Steam here.
Linux will riseee!
Thanks so much to devs.
Quoting: Krootox1986Sorry for the noob question but can I play this on steamOS despite the fact it doesn't have a Linux icon on the steam store? Will it just play after downloading in big picture or will I need to go to desktop and tinker?
Yes you can play it on SteamOS. It isn't supported so the icon isn't there but you can download and play it. I haven't played it on SteamOS but I have played it on Fedora
Ultra is too much @ 1440p in the big areas, set to high am averaging around mid 40's.

... and while it's a beta, according to https://dev.arma3.com/ports, you don't need to opt-in or anything.
