Company of Heroes 2 has once again been updated. The great news for me is that fullscreen works fine once again.

Their last patch had a regression where I couldn't play in fullscreen (like a lot of people reported for Life is Strange).

Other additions and fixes:
Latest Windows version balance changes and fixes.
Other various fixes and improvements.

You can find Company of Heroes 2 on the Feral Store and Steam.

It's still easily one of my favourite strategy games available on Linux. Now is a great time to pick it up, so once I am back to my weekly battles in September which are live-streamed you can join in! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I have to agree, one of my favorit game in this genra, in fact its probably the only game I play at the moment in that genra.
But I feel in love with CoH 1 and I insta buyed CoH2 on steam when feral ported it.

But I never hade any issues with the game at all. Glad it fixed for those who hade it tho.

i never had any issues with the game, but glad to see them still improving it

On my rig, the game doesn't steal focus on startup, and it still doesn't connect to Relic servers no matter what. I think the second issue is Relic/Sega-related, but the first one is new.

Any benchmarks?

The first issue is likely caused by a Window manager we don't support that is doing something we don't expect. The second issues most likely caused by your usage of a unsupported distro that deals with security certs in a different way.

I'd contact Feral support via email with some details of both issues and we can have a look however given the issues appear to be caused by unsupported distro usage we can't promise anything. That said we have worked around bugs in unsupported distro issues before so it's likely we will fix them as long as we get a a 100% test case.

In fact the windowing bug mentioned in the latest update was only reported on unsupported distros and we fixed it :)

There isn't anything hugely different on this build, we did release a patch that was performance focused a while back and I think GoL even did a few benchmarks about the speed improvements.

Glad to see it still being worked on. One day I will get around to playing it. Still have to beat the first COH.

In fact I already contacted Feral support about the second issue several times and they couldn't find any solution. I know only Ubuntu and SteamOS are supported, however even when I disable SElinux completely, it still doesn't work. Maybe it's a Steam Runtime problem, I'll look into this when I have the time.

Should I contact support for the windowing bug anyway?

I am not complaining, I'm pretty much enjoying the game as it is. Thanks for supporting Linux!

Sure please do and link to this thread. We'll add it to our weird unsupported distro list. :-)

These issues we can't guarantee to fix but sometimes something happens that helps expose the root cause so we can workaround or log a bug with the library causing the issue. Also the same thing goes for workarounds if you ever find one let us know we can then use that to help others or even narrow down a permanent fix.
