Woah! Holy Sh...Deus Ex: Mankind Divided looks like it may be getting a Linux & SteamOS release which has literally blown my tiny little mind.

There's a rather large bit of info here on SteamDB, where you can see stuff like this:
Quotelaunch/9/config/oslist: linux
launch/9/executable: DeusExMD.sh
launch/9/type: none

And this:
Quote337001/encryptedmanifests/domesticated_mac_linux_sync/encrypted_gid_2: 973A3491BA8BBFE16CAF17F204300E1B

Obviously no word on a release date and this is not confirmed anywhere. It's good supporting evidence though.

Reminder: We have seen Linux pop up on SteamDB before and a port never happened. Just something to keep in mind.

Exciting either way though, as the game is being very well reviewed all around from what I can see. I actually played and finished the one directly before this and loved it. You can bet I will play the crap out of it if/when it's released for us.

About the game
The year is 2029, and mechanically augmented humans have now been deemed outcasts, living a life of complete and total segregation from the rest of society.

Now an experienced covert operative, Adam Jensen is forced to operate in a world that has grown to despise his kind. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy. Looks like I wasn't the only one to check steamdb just after release ;-) It's there with depots and a configuration, so more than just a hint.

Also, that makes my invisible forum post rather pointless. How long do you get moderator queued on there for new discussions?

Looks to me like a feral port possibly, would make sense, since they've been porting other things for Square Enix recently, like Tomb Raider.

I approve all users forum posts twice until they leave the mod queue, it's completely stopped forum spam for us.

Now that's interesting, as I remember David Anfossi (boss of Eidos Montreal, developer of Deus Ex HR & MD) teasing with a picture of a Steam Machine a while ago on Twitter. I thought that maybe they were doing tests for a Linux port of HR but had abandoned it, as there had been no follow up afterwards.

Before Square Enix is thinking about a SteamOS-/Linux-Version of "DeusEx Mankind Dvided" , they should port the predecessor "Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut" first.

Pretty interesting, but a pity it's Square Enix. Low chances of it coming out DRM-free.

I'm hoping but everytime I see a AAA game rumoured to come to Linux/SteamOS, most developers or publishers backtrack a couple of months later. Lets wait and see.
