Woah! Holy Sh...Deus Ex: Mankind Divided looks like it may be getting a Linux & SteamOS release which has literally blown my tiny little mind.

There's a rather large bit of info here on SteamDB, where you can see stuff like this:
Quotelaunch/9/config/oslist: linux
launch/9/executable: DeusExMD.sh
launch/9/type: none

And this:
Quote337001/encryptedmanifests/domesticated_mac_linux_sync/encrypted_gid_2: 973A3491BA8BBFE16CAF17F204300E1B

Obviously no word on a release date and this is not confirmed anywhere. It's good supporting evidence though.

Reminder: We have seen Linux pop up on SteamDB before and a port never happened. Just something to keep in mind.

Exciting either way though, as the game is being very well reviewed all around from what I can see. I actually played and finished the one directly before this and loved it. You can bet I will play the crap out of it if/when it's released for us.

About the game
The year is 2029, and mechanically augmented humans have now been deemed outcasts, living a life of complete and total segregation from the rest of society.

Now an experienced covert operative, Adam Jensen is forced to operate in a world that has grown to despise his kind. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy. Quoting: TemplateRBefore Square Enix is thinking about a SteamOS-/Linux-Version of "DeusEx Mankind Dvided" , they should port the predecessor "Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut" first.
Seconded, I actually have that game as a gift, but never got it to work properly through Wine. (Must confess I gave up on that rather quickly and went on to play native games)

If that's true... well, for me it sounds too good to be true, to be honest. But I'd pick the game up immediately if it would get released on Linux.

Just started to play the game on PS4 yesterday but would prefer to play the game on PC. Heck, I was even thinking of installing Windows to play this game (and Dishonored 2, when it gets released). Deus Ex on Linux would be a dream come true.

Human Revolution was one of the best games I've played in recent years.

this would be an instant-buy for me!

Wow, this would be huge.

Also, it makes me wonder if this game will be ported to Vulkan since it appears to be shipping with DirectX 12 support.

Just found this that might confirm the whole story:

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Feral-Interactive-Tells-Linux-Users-to-Request-Deus-Ex-Mankind-Divided-Port-478422.shtml

So it might just be logical to get a Linux port from Feral. That would be awesome!!!

Depth Charge?

Even then new one, not the old?! The new entry that all the reviews are saying are "more of the same, only better" - in other words EXACTLY what I want?!

You gotta be fucking kidding me. This is HUGE! Like, this-single-handedly-saves-this-year-in-Linux-gaming huge!

If it gets ported and the reviews are good I will pay full price. I almost always buy games on sale but would definitely make an exception for this one. :)

Honestly, I'm not surprised Softpedia wrote about that. Feral says such things about ports all the time in reply to requests on Facebook. Softpedia just wanted a nice headline, don't read into it too much.
