Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night the gothic, exploration-focused action platformer has been delayed back into the first half of 2018 [Update post here].

What is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night?
An exploration-focused, side-scrolling platformer featuring RPG and crafting elements. Koji Igarashi, the namesake of "Igavania"-style games, is leading the project, with Michiru Yamane composing the music and Inti Creates leading the development.

The delay is a shame, but hopefully this will mean a decent game will come out. See their video below with an explanation as to why it's delayed:

The game was funded on Kickstarter where it gained $5,545,991 in funding. Not a small amount, so I am looking forward to seeing what they are able to do with that.

Thanks to FutureSuture for sending it in.

It was pretty obvious that this was coming. The original schedule was just not realistic for indie development. Especially considering the expectations hanging over an Igavania game.

I'm fine with delays so long as this doesn't go the way of Mighty No 9.
