Fantasy role-playing game 'The Dwarves' [Official Site] from KING Art looks very promising and it has been announced that it will release on December 1st.

The latest beta version is available for Linux too, so it's looking likely that Linux will be a day-1 release here.

The Dwarves is a fantasy role-playing game with a strong story and tactically challenging real-time battles. 15 playable heroes, each with individual skills, are to be deployed cleverly. Take on superior numbers of orcs, ogres, älfs, bögnilim, zombies, dark mages and many more foes, to give them the low-down.

Based on the bestselling novel “The Dwarves” by Markus Heitz you’ll experience a fascinating tale revolving around the coolest fantasy race ever: The Dwarves!

I'm quite excited to play it, so I really need to finish up some other games to make way for it! Will you be picking up a copy as well? Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I'm super excited for this game. Assuming the reviews are decent, I'll likely get this game straight away.

Looks interesting. I have it on my wishlist. Hehe, it will release on my country's national day (Romania).

Props to the developers for referring to Windows as "Windows" and not "PC".

I'm curious if this is a real roleplaying game with genuine choices and consequences or if it's an adventure game with stats (like a JRPG).

I kickstarted it because KING Art until now have been preety decent with its Linux support on day one. Battleworld Kronos or The Book of Unwritten Tales II, which I also kickstarted, had a day one Linux release or at least pretty close that I don't remember waiting for them.

The backer's beta is already available on Linux, some months ago when it launched I tried it and had some issues with poor perfomance on the cutscenes, the game part was working fine, so they already have a working Linux version.

I kickstarted it, too. Actually I forgot that I did until it was mentioned here. Looking forward to see the completed thing! :D

Also backed it with beta access. It is perfectly fine except for the cut scenes. I played beta 2 for 6 hours and i am loving it. I specially like voice acting (german) and gameplay.

Looking forward to this. GOG is showing a Linux icon on the page for it as well. DRM free and Linux on day 1 would be awesome even though I wait 3 months before buying.

I love the rpg genre but too often I've found indie rpgs to be lacking in content or execution.
Will need some really good reviews for me to bite on this one.

That, and everybody knows it's the ELVES that's the coolest fantasy race ;-)
