The SteamOS beta for Rocket League has been updated, and it seems it has fixed a bunch of obvious issues.
Fixes:
- AA now works
- FPS is no longer locked to 60
- Splash screen appears when you click play, overall loading to main menu is faster
- Users on Mesa are reporting less loading time at the start of games
- Users on Mesa are reporting better loading times for items
There may be others, but I couldn't find official patch notes for the Linux/SteamOS version anywhere.
I've already put 13 hours into the game, and I dread to think how high that will be at the end of the year. Utterly addicted to it.
It's really pleasing to see issues getting fixed as promptly as this, hopefully the issues with it crashing to the desktop will be fixed soon too (if it isn't already better in this release).

There's one thought that I can't shake off my head: Would this game ever have come to Linux had it not been for their obligation VS Valve and the Steam controller deal? With the stack of cancelled Linux releases so far this year, I dread the answer...
But seriously guys; This is easily one of the best games for us this year, both in regards to entertainment factor and technical performance. Do not doubt this release. This is the kind of releases we want. It should be supported by all. Just buy it, flip out, have fun and thank us later. :)

Game for me runs great from the start, no crashes whatsoever , odd sound problems, but nothing big. Runs great, fun game , well worth the price.

The game keep crashing randomly when changing map, and then on startup

Despite crashing once or twice and an audio issue popping up once, this a very good port. Nice they come up with patches that quickly.
The game itself is very fun and addictive. I already played 10 hours in the last 2 days.

Generally I think splash screens are a step in the wrong direction. How does this look for SteamOS users? I've already switched to Linux as my main platform for Rocket League (over PS4 and Windows).
If you want to use a Dualshock4 wirelessly on Linux, check out DS4drv, it worked great for me:
