Thanks to robvv in our forum for pointing this out, 'Rogue Stormers' an action packed platformer with heavy action and RPG elements is now on Linux.
I should note, that this is the same developer who promised Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams for Linux over and over after being in a full Humble Indie Bundle. Years later they still haven't delivered. It's good to see them actually do a Linux version of one of their games.
Note: According to the report from robvv, it doesn't launch yet.

About the game
Rogue Stormers combines classic run ‘n’ gun gameplay with a modern art style, twin stick shooter configuration and all the good things rogue like has to offer. Did we mention that you can have up to three friends join you on your rampage in either online or couch co-op mode?
Your goal is to fight and beat the ultimate evil threatening Ravensdale - but in order to beat him, you need to fight your way through 7 increasingly challenging levels. If you die, you'll be back at square one. Earned perks are yours to keep, allowing your character to grow stronger with each new raid. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Thanks for reminding that the developer has never delivered the promised GNU/Linux port of Giana Sisters. As long as they won't keep their promises, I won't get their products. Thank you.

On one hand, I was one of the Kickstarter backers for Giana Sisters, so the Linux port is quite dear to me and its delay really gets to me, on the other hand, having the developer see sales on Linux for their first Linux game might actually speed along the port of Giana Sisters.

I backed Gianna sisters as well, but I was still using Windows at the time. I thought they gave no guarantees on Linux support..?

Personally, I backed the Kickstarter hoping it would come to Linux eventually and because I have fond memories of the original C64/Amiga game.

Oh dear... If it wasn't for GOL i'd never notice games ported to Linux at a later date.
Unless you explicitly search for "Rogue Stormers" on Steam, you won't notice its availabilty since it first appeared months ago for other platforms. Valve - are you doing this deliberately?

This looks good. I have a friend at work that likes metal slug a lot and I told him I could find similar games to it on PC.
