Stardew Valley [Official Site, GOG, Steam] is a very sweet game, and with the 1.1 patch that's currently in development the game is about to get a whole lot bigger.

The developer has written up a blog post detailing some of the new maps that will be available. You won't be stuck on that same farm for each playthrough any more.

Including the original map, there will now be five in total.

New maps
Riverlands - Easier fishing
Forest - More foraging
Hill-top - More mining
Wilderness - Monsters come out at night

Sounds like Wilderness could be the ideal map for me!

The developer said two weeks ago it will be ready soon, so I'm pretty excited by this.

About the game (Official)
You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won't be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town's most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

"Easier fishing"

That would be great. I hate the fishing mini-game! I actually installed a mod to make it easier, but having it be a legitimate part of the game will be nice.

Same. The fishing minigame is the only real bummer about the game. It's just a mindless, mouse-shattering clickfest. I loved the way they did fishing in some MMOs such as Rift and Black Desert.

I always found the fishing to be fine. Some fish escape, even at higher levels (when your catch bar is bigger), but the challenge makes it more fun.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the update. I don't give a damn about Shane, but it'll be nice to see Emily's character get fleshed out a bit. The new farm maps are a cool idea too. I've heard a rumour that we'll actually be able to brew mead in the 1.1 update too! Woo!

EDIT: btw, if you're rapidly clicking during the fishing minigame, then you're doing it wrong. Hold the left mouse button to raise the catch bar, release to let it lower.

Does GOG version of this run on pure 64bit system? No multilib and kernel support for 32bit binary...

Yeah, there are x86_64 binaries and libraries in the package.

Fsck. I just started beige playing 2 days ago. It's so bad I was up till 5 am last night throwing down bundles at the community center.

I haven't had this reaction with a game since Terraria 2011 or Metal Gear Solid 2.

I find myself bobbing back and forth between the wiki and the game. It's not hard to play, and any specifics that you need answered can be found on the wiki.
