The Wine team released today another development release of their software. Version 1.9.18 has many small changes including 26 bugfixes.
The few most interesting features introduced in this release:
- Support for multiple kernel drivers in a single process.
- More WebServices reader support.
- Various improvements in joystick support.
- Some more work towards the Direct3D command stream.
- GDI performance improvements.
- Improved IME window handling.
- Compatibility fixes in the clipboard support.
- Various bug fixes.

Can't wait for the command stream stuff to be finalised. Great work WINE team...such an amazing project, and they've come so far.

If you want Direct3D command stream, aka csmt, it's available in wine-staging.

Of course not, there is no DirectX 11 support yet.
I managed to play Subterrain in Wine just fine and that uses DirectX 11 (or so my terminal output says) but maybe it falls back to DX9 mode somewhere??
