It seems Wargame: European Escalation was broken for nearly two years (see this forum post) for Nvidia GPU users on Linux. The recent Nvidia 370.28 driver seems to have fixed it.

The game suffered from heavy graphical glitching once you get past the menu and into the game, but it looks like the newer Nvidia drivers have fixed it.

See an example of the glitching in this video:

It's really nice to see that older games that broke can once again be played on Nvidia + Linux. Sure took its time though.

This is NVIDIA fault and good to see thay they fix it. Even if they previous don't want fixing it.

Thanks for this news. It was hard to look at with all that glitching going on, so it looks like time to revisit it. I held off buying the newer games in the series because of this.

Wait! What?

Installing it now, I was close to removing this game from my library since I have never been able to play it. My hopes are low. But we will see.

Holy crap, Purchased: Jun 28, 2014. It always had that graphical glitch and was unplayable. LOL!

It works!! After all this time, looks like I have another game to play.

Glad its finally fixed.

Never had such an issue with this game, and played it a lot.

Quoting: gojulNever had such an issue with this game, and played it a lot.

The problem happened after nvidia driver 342X.XX,before is fine. AMD was not effected, as badly at least. Not sure about the nouveau driver or open source ATI driver.

It's been so long since I played this I'd forgotten I even had it in my list, time to reinstall & have another go at it.

I'm sure to have played with it after 342.xx driver release. But well maybe I do not remember.

Anyway Red Dragon and Airland Battle are not affected by the issue.

Too bad their latest game, Act of Agression, does not feature Linux support... looks like it is partly because that game did not encounter expected success.

Nice. Good NVidia are still up to the drivers.
