Day of Infamy [Steam] is the new FPS from the Insurgency developers New World Interactive. It has a Linux version, even though it's not advertised yet. It seems to work pretty well and they just updated the game.

Here's a shot of how nice it looks:

Initially there was no one online, but I assume that's just as the game updated. I waited a few minutes and a server did begin to get populated enough for me to have a pretty decent game. In the last 24 hours it had a peak of 234 online. Doesn't sound like much, but it is in Early Access. I thought it would be more popular though.

See the full changelog here.

The performance is quite great, on the snow map with snow weather effects I was hitting well over 100FPS constantly.

If you're looking for your next FPS fix, this could be it. I've been really enjoying it, it really does feel like Day of Defeat with more realism. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

But surely, as Insurgency, CSM shadows doesn't work (I could live without it, but it would be nice if they fix that).

I have thoroughly enjoyed Insurgency on Linux with my friends. TBH it was the first game I really loved playing on Linux.
Just waiting for DoI to get a bit mature, then gonna switch to it.
PS: I would love to have a session with other members from GoL, I can host a server in Europe/Singapore.

I love Insurgency, I really like the New World studio and Day of Infamy :)

The weird thing is that the Steam game page does not say it supports Linux. But it works and is playable :)

Liam, did you encounter any invisible walls that were present in the previous versions?

Performance is pretty shit for me, I have an Rx480 (amdgpu-pro driver) and with all settings on high/very high I'm getting up to 30 fps, and I'm not even running FullHD (1680x1050) :(

Nice.
Can smbd explain what is the difference to insurgency? I mean, isnt this just a change of the setting?

I saw the invisible texture issue only once this time, after I wrote this up funnily enough. It went after i died and came back. Better than before for sure.

Mostly a change of the setting, but also kinda faster gameplay (more like in Day of Defeat!), more players in both teams, more gameplay elements (such as the commander role, the radio guy role, calling artillery support), new weapons (flamethrower!) and more.
