That's right, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is launching on SteamOS & Linux on the 3rd of November!

Feral are doing an insane amount of porting recently for us, this has truly made 2016 our best ever year.

As usual, I will do a livestream on the day of release, be sure to follow us on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/gamingonlinux

I am also hoping to get access to the game, so that I can do my usual report on how it runs.

About the game

The year is 2029, and mechanically augmented humans have now been deemed outcasts, living a life of complete and total segregation from the rest of society.

Now an experienced covert operative, Adam Jensen is forced to operate in a world that has grown to despise his kind. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.

Wow, the depot for the game is 64GB. I might have to get a bigger hard drive, or add one. All my ssd's are close to or over 70% full and I don't want to reduce their performance.

Wow. My first SSD has 80. X)

I wouldn't be afraid of filling them, they already have spare place you can't access (as you probably know).

It isn't about running out the spare sectors for when some go bad.

I may be a little aggressive with wanting to keep them around 70% though

Yeah and they're getting cheaper which is good. I have a 750GB, and two 400GB's. At the rate AAA game data is growing I'd like to replace the 400GB's with 1TB's. I don't have that kind of money right now. I could delete some game files for games I'm not currently playing, but I like to keep them around in case I get an itch to play them.

Ever get the feeling we have too many games coming to Linux now?
Purple Library Guy Oct 21, 2016
There definitely seems to be a learning curve when it comes to porting games. Feral has gotten very good at it; as a result, they can probably do it cheaper than most big game companies who don't develop cross-platform could do it for themselves. And so it's very likely that many games Feral ports would not have been ported in-house, since it wouldn't have been worth it if developers did it who hadn't learned how and would take a bunch of time/money to get the job done.
Hurrah for Feral, what I'm saying.

Feral became quite experts porting, right? Hope they keep it up!
