That's right, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is launching on SteamOS & Linux on the 3rd of November!

Feral are doing an insane amount of porting recently for us, this has truly made 2016 our best ever year.

As usual, I will do a livestream on the day of release, be sure to follow us on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/gamingonlinux

I am also hoping to get access to the game, so that I can do my usual report on how it runs.

About the game

The year is 2029, and mechanically augmented humans have now been deemed outcasts, living a life of complete and total segregation from the rest of society.

Now an experienced covert operative, Adam Jensen is forced to operate in a world that has grown to despise his kind. Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy.

I wonder if the game wil perform better on Linux, since there is so much crap with directX and this game with stutters and lag. I have a seperate hdd with windows on just for this game and the game is playable and a load of fun, but I do experience the frame drops and stutters in certain parts of the game, even though I am running a GTX 970 OC with a 3.6Ghz 6 Core i7 and 16GB of ddr4 ram. I really hope that it performs better on my arch setup !

Damn... I was holding out for Homefront but this...

I bought WormsWMD a couple of weeks ago but got a refund last week... doesn't launch (buggy as hell, even for high spec windows).

Thank you very much Feral!

Is it based on Vulkan? DX12, Metal, Vulkan would have been nice, but I could not find the information, so I guess not.

Nothing to loose asking. :)

That was fast, I didn't expected the release for november. Just as a side note if possible Feral bring F1 2016 and for those that played Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, please.

Now if Firaxis would have only given Civ 6 to them to port... I'm not into games like Mad Max but I will definitely pick up Deus Ex... loved that series from the start and will get Dawn of war as soon as my time allows me to play it. Thanks Feral! Keep it coming!

The only downside to this is that I will probably be still playing Mad Max when this releases. I guess I'll wait until I finish Mad Max before buying. #FirstWorldProblems

They already stated for other Games like Grid: Autosport that they will most likely use other techniques on Linux.

I thought that they were "semi-native". Anyway, I support their efforts it could be a bad sign if Feral is the only porting house doing all the heavy lifting. VP and Aspyr are still in the game, right?

There is no such thing as semi-native. It's either native or it's not.

What people are talking about when they say such junk is about the use of OpenGL mapping. All porters map the DX calls to OpenGL, rewriting an engine for OpenGL will take far too long.
