'Stranger Things' was a really good TV series, and it now has it's own fan game on itch
[Itch Link] that has a Linux version.

It uses Adventure Game Studio and sadly I have been unable to get it to run, let me know in the comments if you have more luck than I do. Would love to give this one a little run as a fan.

About
"99 out of a hundred times, the missing kid is with a parent or relative. This is about that one other time."

The disappearance of Will Byers has the town of Hawkins, Indiana - and Chief Jim Hopper - on edge.

Based on the Netflix series created by the Duffer Brothers.

This is a one-room, point and click adventure game, done in tribute to the series. Created by Steven Alexander, James Mulvale & Jon Taylor-Stoll of Infamous Quests, this is a small labor of love. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

What problems did you encounter? The game starts ok for me on Ubuntu 14.04.

I had no problems starting it on Arch Linux. However, it went into a fullscreen mode with a 1:1 pixel ratio, making the actual viewable area for the game pretty tiny at only a 320x200 area of my screen.

Also, while in that fullscreen window, Alt+F4 and Alt-Tab commands and the like don't seem to work. The only way to quit the game is via Ctrl+Q or Alt+X, which gave me some confusion at first.

You can see the parameters with:

./StrangerThings --help

What I did on Arch was this: ./StrangerThings --gfxfilter stdscale 6

Because I am on 1920(x1080), which is 6 times the games resolution, i.e. 320(x200).

hmm, in that case I did't like it. it felt like those jokes in youtube where you are supposed to look at a picture at certain amount of time and then you get jumpscarepicture..

hope they continue it. it has a promising start. but currently, it's like one day gamejamthingy.
