The release of Mad Max [Steam, Feral Interactive] for Linux is fast approaching this week (20th!) and Feral have now updated their website with the minimum and recommended system specifications.
System requirements
Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit / SteamOS 2.0
Minimum
Intel i5 3.4 GHz or AMD FX8350 64-bit processor
8GB RAM
2GB Nvidia 660ti graphics card or better (driver version 367.35)
Recommended
Intel i7 64-bit 3.6 GHz processor
16GB RAM
4GB Nvidia 970 graphics card or better (driver version 367.35)
AMD & Intel GPU's are not currently supported. Since Mesa has made amazing progress this year, I am hoping it won't be too long before they can be pushed up to supported status. The most likely reasoning is that the current stable release of Mesa probably doesn't have high enough OpenGL version support.
How do you think your PC is going to handle Mad Max? Looks like the Recommended requirements are pretty high this time which is a sign that Feral is preparing us for a heavy game.
Will you be picking up a copy? I will hopefully do a livestream of the game once it has released, so keep an eye on our Twitch channel.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
My PC complies with the recommended specifications. I will buy the game at release. Deus Ex and Total War I will also buy at release. I have bought all the feral titles at discount until now. I was never disappointed.
Maybe there will be another discount on the 20th? :)
Feral does a damn good job. Fantastic to have all these AAA titles on Linux.

It's going to be a close thing on my machine, time for me to start thinking about a processor or video card upgrade.

I will buy this game at release, however it's true that the system requirements are very high.

Considering that Steam had the game listed for 6.99€ in the past, I'll buy it, when it's on sale. 30€ is too steep for me :/

Hmm I have the minimum proccessor, the 8350, but I do have the recomended RAM and GPU. Might run decent. Can't wait for it :D

I hope it runs on my Alienware Steam Machine, because my mothership (desktop) is not working atm. Nevertheless, I will probably still buy it.
Has it been mentioned what OpenGL version is required?
edit:
It does seem like the minimum specs matches the windows minimum requirements which I think is very nice to see.

Quoting: EikeQuoting: dubigrasuI don't get that Feral radar. The "Depth charge" thing is closer than Mad Max which is supposed to be released now.
They're always saying they don't get it either... ;)
It seems like Mad Max was the Foxy hint, which I don't get.

QuoteSystem requirementsThat doesn't really fit. Unfortunately SteamOS Nvidia drivers are still at version 367.27.
... SteamOS 2.0
... Nvidia ... (driver version 367.35)
So it would be interesting to know what kind of problems we can expect with the older driver?

Quoting: operaAs Feral have stated numerous times, those are what it has been mainly tested against, it's not that it wont work with other drivers. Same for minimum specifications.QuoteSystem requirementsThat doesn't really fit. Unfortunately SteamOS Nvidia drivers are still at version 367.27.

Wow, my PC is lightyears away from the recommended specs despite it's only three years old. I am not sure I ever had -that- happen with any game.
