Cloudbase Prime [Steam, Official Site] is a charming Early Access game about fighting robots and manipulating hexagonal platforms the levels are built with.

You have a robot friend guiding you through each level with instructions, with a quite hilarious robot-on-helium type of voice.

You can move platforms up and down at your will, to either progress through the level when required, or to launch yourself into the air. It's quite amusing, and especially useful when lots of robots are surrounding you to just launch yourself into the air.

Some of the levels are crazy too! Launching yourself all over a level, and blasting some robots has been pretty fun. Still not entirely sure what I'm doing, but I've been progressing through the levels nicely.

As far as I can tell from my playtime, it has no issues running on Linux.

About the game
Your shift on a gas giant mining platform does not go as planned. Move terrain to clear paths, defeat enemies, and launch yourself skyward. Shoot robots while jumping. A decent Monday.

Find new weapons and powers for your robot suit as you descend into the colorful clouds of Cloudbase Prime. Discover robots of varying danger, fight giant bosses, and swim in huge floating jellyfish. Learn to tolerate the plural form of "jellyfish". Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

The "About the game" lies! There is no such thing as "a decent Monday"!

I have high hopes for this game, perhaps too high. But the visuals, the ideas, the design all point to a clear vision of something extraordinary and delightful, and games that begin thus --- if they can find their way to completion --- rarely disappoint.

So, here's hoping.
