I watched our editor Samsai play it live on Twitch a while back for one of the weekly Friday livestreams, and it looked very cool, but hard and probably a bit frustrating.
If you have played it, let us know what you think in the comments.
About the game
Pharaonic is an unforgiving sidescrolling Combat-RPG set in Ancient Egypt. Explore a vast kingdom full of dangers and brutal enemies while you find the truth behind Ahmosis I, the Red Pharaoh.
Only the most audacious warriors will have any chance of success. The Pharaoh's army and countless dangerous creatures will stand in your way.
Original and streamlined combat system
Polish your combat skills to the finest and loot the best gear possible to even have the slightest chance of overcoming this difficult endeavor. Will you opt for lightweight equipment, trusting on your agility to avoid death? Or will you prefer to take the blow and strike back even harder? The decision is entirely yours to make.

Hard is an understatement, I just bought it & got killed in less than 5 minutes on my first go at it. Good thing though is if you reach a save point & then get killed you go back there but keep anything you gained in-between.

I suspect it's way too hard for me, which is a pity because it looks so cool.

It's a pretty good game. Hard but not too much.
Once you know the enemies it's fairly easy to progress through the levels. Of course it's not a game about pushing attack button as fast as possible, you need to dodge, roll, block, parry, wait the right moment to attack, roll back, recover stamina and so on.
At first you have to treat any enemy as a boss, once you know its combo, speed, timing, reach, how to deal with multiple enemies, you can progress through the whole level without any problem. Bosses are a whole different game, you need a lot of attempts, you have to know perfectly their behaviours, and choose wisely your gears (fast/slow weapon, light/heavy armor, spell). Their attacks also change depending on their life level, making combat harder.
In short, you need a little tenacity at start, then it's pretty fun. Yeah sometimes it can get really frustrating, just stop and try again the next day, things will go a lot smoother.
