Star Vikings [Steam, GOG, Official Site] from Rogue Snail is a casual puzzle RPG where it plays a little like a "reverse plants vs zombies". It feels very much like a casual mobile game. The interface is super simple requiring only one or two mouse clicks, so it's really easy to grasp.

Disclosure: Key provided by the developer.

I've played a little, and I understand why the developer said it's like a "reverse plants vs zombies". The basic way it's played is similar, you advance units in a line to reach the end, but it's much more than that. You're moving space vikings across a board, battling space snails to progress. These snails and your space vikings have different attacks, and you can make your enemies attacks work for you.

The basic snails will attack directly in front of them when attacked, so if you have a line of them, you could attack the very end snail to make them each attack each other, which is slightly amusing.

Features
· Unique Puzzle/RPG gameplay based on teamwork and chain reactions;
· 6-8 hour Story mode packed with colorful characters and dialog;
· Equip and level up your crew of up to 5 Vikings;
· Choose between six classes with unique skills;
· Procedurally-generated puzzles for endless replayability;
· “Endgame” system with Leaderboards - compete with your friends!
· Secret levels and “funny” jokes!

It's not a bad timer-waster actually. Simple to get into, nice looking, and has more depth than meets the eye. Seems to work fine, no issues I noticed. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It looks nice. There is a free demo on Steam. I'll try it soon.

It reminds me a little bit HoMM Clash of Heroes. I can"t plat it on Linux.
Really fun.

'· Secret levels and “funny” jokes!'

This made me giggle, and wonder if they're just not confident in their humor writing :P
