This is awesome, Dolphin [Official Site] the big GameCube & Wii emulator has now merged in the code for official Vulkan support.

The Vulkan merge request became feature complete some time in July, so it's really pleasing to see it finally merged into the main codebase.

This should enable both GameCube & Wii games to have really great performance on Linux, and not be held back by driver overhead which the consoles usually don't have.

You can see the full commit in all of its glory right here on github.

The next Dolphin release should be pretty fun. It's not in the current version of course, as it's only just been merged into the main code. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Vulkan Mesa drivers recently dropped on Debian so this is good timing.

Don't work with Nvidia driver 361.42 on Ubuntu Xenial :/
When I choose Vulkan in Dolphin graphics options, it says "can not create Vulkan instance"

Obviously. Vulkan support started in 367.
