We've run a GOTY award for the last two years and this year will be no different! I am requesting feedback!

If you have a suggestion for a category, please let me know, but I don't want too many more as I think we already have a good selection going from feedback last year.
There is a test game in the first category, feel free to make sure it works for you. This would be a good time to check. It works fine for me, but I remember a few people stating last year it required multiple tries (if you want to test, bring up your browsers debugging window and watch the console for any errors if voting didn't work).
How it will work
It will open for game submissions in early January, then it will close for a few days while we remove any duplicates that snuck in, or games in the wrong category (which we will request help with).
Then once that is done, it will open for a weeks worth of voting and I will present the results once it's finished.
Each category you have already voted in, will have a little tick besides the name.Once you vote, your vote in that category is final. Will look at re-voting if you click a wrong one.

I'm voting for Undertale and... that's it. I played some great games this year, but that's the only Linux port released in 2016 that I've actually played through.
Grim Fandango, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Psychonauts, and Dreaming Sarah were all good-great titles that I got to play on Linux this year, but they were not ported in 2016. :x

I think it would be nice to keep the best porter award, a certain company has done an absolutely stellar job for Linux users this year and I think it would be good to recognise and award them, if not with this award then something else like Linux Gaming MVP, or GOL Community Award, Best Streaming Channel or something like that.

Thing is, like a couple of others who've mentioned in this thread, I haven't played (or even watched youtube game-play videos) sufficient number of the 2016 releases to be able to make comprehensive nominations.
Owing to being a frugal character, I buy stuff when it is really cheap on sales. So unless it is a brand new, top AAA game that has been 75% off in a sale, then it is doubtful to be in my collection.
Most of my gaming this year has been with "Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition (2015)", "FTL: Faster Than Light (2012)", "Serious Sam 3: BFE (2012)", "Mad Max (2016)", "Crypt of the Necrodancer (2015)", "Rocket League (2016)", "Sky Force Anniversary (2015)", "Chaos Reborn (2015)", "Overlord (2016)", "Space Run (2014)", "Desktop Dungeons (2014)", "Iron Snout (2016)", and plenty of other odds and ends.
Although I own "Alien Isolation (2015)", "The Talos Principle (2015)", "Tomb Raider (2016)", "Bioshock Infinite (2015)", "Company of Heroes 2 (2015)", "Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War II Retribution (2016)", "Pillars of Eternity (2015)" and plenty of others (some of which are very recent), I've never played them so I can't really make any comments on those titles.
I take my time over stuff. I've put over 100 hours into Dying Light and Mad Max this year, and nearly that into FTL and Serious Sam 3. Also, games I'd nominate for my own "game of the year" awards, are not necessarily games that have been released this year.
