GOG Connect is the ability to own games on GOG, that you already have on Steam. Alongside the currently sale going on at GOG, the team have added in new titles for you to bring over to GOG for free.
All you have to do is have an account at GOG, and own the games on Steam already. Then you will be able to grab them on GOG as well. It's a great thing for GOG to do, as gamers are quite accustomed to buying in one place and having access to their games in many places.
They didn't give us an exact list of what's included, but they said:

I'm a bit peeved with GOG Connect. The last time it was up and running (a few weeks ago, maybe 3 weeks), I noticed a number of games on the Connect system - one being "Dex". Then a day later, I picked up Dex on Steam on sale (probably 75% off). Immediately after buying I was back on GOG Connect trying to make the connect so that Dex would be added to my GOG account too. Well the Connect was no longer available... so I thought: I'll wait 'til the next one....
Well now is the next one, and the game "Dex" is no longer available to connect from my Steam account. Fortunately another 3 games were available, that I didn't have before on GOG, but no Dex.
I'm tempted to say it is going through a testing / analytics phase at the moment, but that doesn't alleviate my frustration.

Have you had the games there for a while or did you add them recently to Steam? I ask this because I added Risk of Rain and Broken Sword 1 to Steam just today (had 2 Humble keys) and took a while for GOG Connect to see them but I did redeem them.
I had BS1 from before but bought BS2 earlier today and its not on GOG Connect yet. I can always check tomorrow.

Just checked again, but nothing. Always returns "NO ELIGIBLE GAMES FOUND"...

Yes, it's not optimal, but you can still play Linux games from GOG even without Galaxy, so I see no point in the hatred.
I share the same point of view as @elbuglione. I don't like that GOG is advertising "and Linux soon" for their GOG Galaxy client for more than a year now!!! It's totally unacceptable. "Soon" means "in the next weeks or months", and not "in the next years or decades".
As long as there won't be the Linux client, they simply won't have my money.

I like GOG but for me the lack of Galaxy for GOG stops me from buying them only because of convenience. I've become too accustomed to the ease of using Steam so I pretty much only go for GOG when getting something not on Steam. I'd be very likely to get everything on GOG if they had a functional Linux client and I'm not making any kind of a stand out of principle here.

Everytime I have tried this it always says "no eligible games found", I have around 1600 games on steam there has to be a few at least that work. Ive tried waiting as well, it always says no eligible ones found.

After musing over the Autumn ( "Fall" ) GOG sale, which is on the verge of ending (as I type this), I did manage to put together a game bundle + XP collected which totalled over 15000 XP, and got me the first two free games.
Here are the ones I bought:
Points collected from challenges (4400XP)
Capsized (Linux) -79% £1.69 (2200XP)
Risk of Rain (Linux) -74% £2.09 (2500XP)
Serpents in the Staglands (Linux) -67% £5.49 (6600XP)
TOTAL POINTS (15700XP)
So this got me the first two free games:
Expeditions Conquistador (Windows, so might try it on Wine/Linux)
Dex (Linux) * which I already own on Steam, but wanted the DRM-free version.
Good to support Linux game developers and GOG ;)
