The latest Nvidia driver 375.20 is now available. The interesting change is that it increases the OpenGL shader cache size, which may help with games like Deus Ex Mankind Divided on Linux.
One of the issues Deus Ex has, is that it will often re-cache everything when you load it up (that long loading time when you first open it), this driver should hopefully be a fix for that. I can't test it yet myself, as I am waiting for the PPA to be updated.
On top of that it also adds in support for newer GPU models, adds in support for xorg 1.19 and more. It's nice to see Nvidia so quick to ready their drivers for newer versions of xorg.
Find the full changelog here.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: Avehicle7887Just checked my cache folder and it seems it has topped the 64mb many moons ago, 128mb feels a bit shallow still but better than nothing so Nvidia has my thanks. :-)
The changelog indicates there's a variable you can set if you want to make it larger.

I can't install this driver. It complains about the EGL path not being set, and I have no idea where to manually set the path. :/

Now, if only Nvidia would bring over some features that they have in their Windows driver/control panel.

Can someone tell me how long it usually takes for this ppa to get an update?

I can confirm that it does indeed fix this. :D

One of the things I hate about Windows is the NVIDIA Experience thing. Thank God for repositories on Linux and the general experience of installing packages.
While fragmentation is still present, when it comes to ease of installation, it's either in the kernel or just a matter of enabling the relevant repo and installing.
For most software. Heck, even compiling from source is easier, lol. Less effort than going to a website, looking for the right driver and going through a wizard to install.

I recently update on Arch to this version... but I found a lot of games where appear freezes, bad renders and some suddenly "black textures". All are old problems that we have seen in the past, but I'm discovering on games like Grid Autosport, Mad Max and many of my best games (right now I cant try Deus).
Very bad update for me...

Just ran some tests, no freezing here, no bad renders and no black textures. Tried with Mad max, will try with grid once installed
Running arch here too

Hopefully it may reduce frame drop that was occuring on some of feral ports (tomb raider and mad max). On deus ex I haven't really encountered it yet compared to the other two ports, appart in some cutscenes.
