Tyranny [GOG, Steam], the new massive RPG from Obsidian Entertainment releases on the 10th of November, and the last dev diary showing it off is up.

I have a review key, so I plan to do a livestream preview before release on the 8th of November around 8PM UTC. Make sure you're following us on Twitch to get a sneak peek! Keep a note in your diary to come along and watch!

About the game (Official)
In Tyranny, the grand war between good and evil is over – and the forces of evil, led by Kyros the Overlord, have won. The Overlord’s merciless armies dominate the face of the world, and its denizens must find their new roles within the war-torn realm... even as discord begins to rumble among the ranks of Kyros’ most powerful Archons.

Players will experience the new world order under the Overlord in a reactive role-playing game (RPG), interacting with the populace as a powerful Fatebinder in the Overlord’s forces -- roaming the lands to inspire loyalty or fear as they bring control to the last holdouts of the Tiers. wasnt hugely fond of the forced mechanisms to play pillars. couldnt grind to level, only real way was to complete annoying fetch quests etc. rushed to the end and couldnt win because I must be this tall to enter ride.

If they used Shrouds again, I'm refunding the Overlord copy.

Using that would mean short-sightedness to the maximum.

Even Windows users have problems with that stupid plug-in.

I'm still shocked that they didn't take the steps to release a patch to replace that plug-in and recode. After all, their Mac and Linux customers also paid good money.

Stop using outdated and obscure Unity plug-ins.

I'm actually hoping the presence of Paradox has beaten some sense into their selection process.

Despite how much I grew to dislike Pillars of Eternity, I'm pretty excited for this game, largely because the setting and setup seem really interesting. Hopefully the story delivers this time and keeps me interested, unlike the aforementioned Pillars. Also, I hope the game doesn't have an obscene amount of worthless and tedious filler battles, again, unlike the aforementioned Pillars.

From what I saw at Day9 stream, they didn't try to develop wheel and sticked to standards. I.e., the system makes sense, you are improving by using stuff (allegedly) and thus maybe this could be playable by single char.

So although I threw Pillars after 30 mins of gameplay, I am looking towards this.

Any news on Torment?

I think Tyranny has no round based fighting system. For old pen and paper players like me always irritating. Nevertheless, I will buy Tyranny and play. Many hours. You know. ;)
