The Steam Link isn't something I write about often, but it has just gained a new Beta which adds full support for customizing the PS4 controller and it also now allows you to pair an XBox One S controller.

Changelog:
- Allow pairing with the XBox One S controller updated to the latest firmware version, 3.1.1221.0
- Added support for full Steam Controller personalization when connected to the latest Steam beta client
- Added support for full PS4 controller personalization when connected to the latest Steam beta client
- Use HDMI audio output when the PS4 slim controller is plugged in
- Fixed HDMI audio buzzing after waking the Steam Link with a USB headset connected
- Fixed issue with some Bluetooth devices waking the Steam Link immediately after going to sleep
- Updated VirtualHere with performance optimizations, feedback welcome!

See the update that announced it here.

It's also on sale at 60% off, which is an amazing deal for this handy bit of kit.

I'm actually tempted to get one now myself, as a handy little box to have by my TV since my Steam Machine was turned into my testing PC which also now sits under my desk.

Do you own one? What do you think about it? Let everyone know! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Did I mention that it's 60% off - about 20 bucks at the moment?!?

I'm rather surprised by such large discounts on hardware!

To be fair, I was surprised that it cost so much in the first place. It's not like the hardware itself is extremely advanced.

Anyway, bought it full price some time ago, and I still have some problems making it work over the PLC network (read:doesn't work) . Plus, the beast don't like my DHCP server, and manual settings have been buggy for me.

It's cheaper than many WiFi routers - and it includes what a WiFi router needs...

Same in Switzerland but I bought the steam controller and steam link from amazon.com website.

Shame there isnt price parity across Amazon stores regions. Some have the Link + controller at $120+ most don't have the link in stock. Other game stores don't have the link either nor has valve passed on the savings to those stores in order to increase sales.

Color me skeptical but once your ordering hardware from the Steam store they have your full name and address to go with your email and if you dual authenticate your telephone number too.. for £15/$15 thats a really cheap way of getting a metric poop tonne of personal info. Considering there is a lot of facebook integration within steam.. id rather just stick to a traditional store.
