The developers of 'Drift Into Eternity' [Steam, Official Site] emailed me to let me know their sci-fi single-player survival experience will be coming to Linux.

I've been told they are aiming to release the Linux version before the end of December. The haven't officially announced it anywhere else, just in case something goes wrong. I like their honesty!

About the game

As the sole survivor of the crash of a long-haul spaceship, you find yourself trapped within its falling apart remainings, struggling to maintain the vital functions of the ship and coping with your own survival.

Explore, salvage, study and make a good use of the different modules of the ship, and try to survive as long as possible.

Inspired by our love for science-fiction classics and the survival genre, Drift Into Eternity presents you with a unique and difficult survival experience in first person view. You'll have to learn quick to take advantage of the slightest item if you want to overcome the many dangers threatening the ship and your life.

No matter what the results of this test will be, I'd really hope to read a postmortem on that.

What was giving you the most headaches? What did you do to fight it? Did you try to do all on your own or did you reach out for help?

I'll be interested in it if it makes it to Linux.

OMG! Impressed with all the space-related titles aiming to come to Linux recently!
One of my favorite genres!

Looking forward to this, hopefully everything goes well!
