Motorsport Manager [Steam] is surprisingly good and it just got a little better for the lower-end gamers with a new 2D race mode.
This new mode swaps out the 3D rendering engine for the races themselves, with a simpler view so that computers with lower specifications can enjoy the game some more. It doesn't replace the 3D of course, it's entirely optional.

I really was impressed with the game when I tried it out, as it hides a surprising amount of depth behind a rather slick and easy to understand interface.

For being a fall-back mode, that is surprisingly well executed! If the game had released with this mode exclusively, I wouldn't have thought twice about it, that's how good it looks.

Yay... that mode is just right for me.
First: My laptop is not that powerful. So this mode helps a lot...
Second: I don't really need fancy graphics in a management simulation game. It is a nice to have... but I usually prefer a clean
interface that gives me an overview of all the necessary information I need to make my decisions. Fancy graphics are just eye-candy.
I'm glad that the developers feel the same way and opened up the market for their game to include fans of management-sims with not so powerful PC setups. ^_^

Football Manager also have a similar 2D option for people with lower end PCs. Seems like it is (or at least should be) a standard feature for management games of this kind.
