Our newest question about your primary gamepads/controllers has grown quite a bit over last month, with 231 more people answering the question compared to last month. With 502 total people answering that question now, the Steam Controller has the top share at 36% which is quite impressive.
Ubuntu and its spin-offs still remain king over all other distributions too, with them together taking a sweet 50.29%.
This is the most fun to see:
Out of 1263 people, only 2 are on 32bit.
Note: I noticed the graph numbers are getting cramped at higher levels of people, so I will be adjusting that to shorten it to "1k, 1.2K" or something like that.
It's also nice to see a healthy 68.24% of people do not dual-boot, which surprised me, but that's a damn healthy number to see.

I am still working out the best length of time to have data drop-off when it becomes stale. We do log the time and date people last updated their information, so it's easy to do when I think of a good time period for it.
I will also be working on an automatic reminder, that will appear on the site to ask you to update your details or to click if nothing has changed. That way, it will help with old data and keep it in your minds. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I think it's a wise idea to put a restriction, however maybe there is nothing to update next time. I probably will be using the same data for some months, but I wouldn't want to be out of the survey (however I did think the old one was very boring and extensive, I'm glad this is now automatic).
Easy to do, but I am working on some other site features ATM.

Hmm, my profile was a bit out of date also, I have recently settled on Manjaro KDE and currently using a 980Ti (I would use two if SLI worked!)
I'll move back to AMD once the 490 comes out, and if it isn't terrible :)

I believe that this survey is about your main gaming computer, which makes sense.
For example, my second "rig" is a crappy and very old mini netbook which has a 32-bit only atom and 1GB of RAM (upgraded the RAM a bit less than 6 months ago) I still play games such as Super Hexagon on it, from time to time :D

480 (Polaris) is already quite good, so I expect Vega to be a blast. They plan to focus on improved performance / lower power consumption there, which they didn't do in Polaris despite shrinking the die to 14nm transistors.

Might be nice to get an email (or banner, like you suggested) a month or two before you drop off the survey results.
And if you do drop off, it would be nice to see that boldly displayed on your profile page, so that if you visit it, it will remind you to update it.
I really, really like not being asked to complete monthly surveys. They were getting a big "again??" by the time you changed to the profile method. Much better this way.

The Steam Controllers have finally made their way down under to Australian EB Games stores, so I picked one up (profile updated). Still can't order them through the Steam client, but that's not a big problem.
It took a bit of messing around to get it working nicely, and took some more time to get used to it (I kept accidentally hitting the reverse-side bumpers). I found the Binding of Isaac to be a good game to test it out.
