While we don't currently have a drop-off implemented for old/stale data, it will be coming soon. If you want to make sure you're included at any time clicking update without any changes will update the last time you edited them.

Any laptop and desktop can be connected to a TV screen. That doesn't really give useful information about the hardware. I think if you mainly play with a controller sitting in front of the TV, you should probably pick Sofa-PC as your main gaming machine. Unless you mean streaming from a Windows host, in which case it's not relevant.
These are just alternate ways to play games on Windows (assuming you don't mean running a different Linux distro in a VM), so not that useful info to collect in a Linux gaming survey. Maybe combine them into "Do you play games on a different operating system by dual booting or in a virtual machine". I dunno.
Forcing users to choose an exact CPU/GPU model is a bit overkill and would make filling the form a bit cumbersome. The harder this is, the less people will bother filling it. I guess it could be an optional way to fill the text field. The MB model would be useful if this data was for technical support or benchmark purposes, but it's not so maybe not.

As for listing clickable CPU and GPU types, that will likely not happen as that will require me to build/gather a database of all possible CPUs and GPUs that people might have.
At least when I browse on my mobile phone, I tend to minimise the number of pages I visit :)
Edit: Maybe just the signature image with a "This is still my config" button, to make it concise & "simpler" for you.

Does the question want to know in what kind of situation I am playing? (On my desk with my desktop machine / on my laptop because I play at different locations / in my living room with a computer connected to a big screen)
Or is it intended to know about the hardware? In this case, Desktop-PC and Sofa-PC don't tell a lot about the hardware in the case. Because either of these could be quite high end or low end.
It doesn't matter so much, but I just wanted to give some feedback about this. :)
But seriously, I guess this could be useful. Though I don't know if GOL's userbase is exactly representative of the larger Linux gaming community. The English-speaking world and the western countries would most likely be overrepresented in comparison to the actual market. But developers should understand this. And maybe this is interesting to some GOL users.
