Honestly I think it looks quite brilliant and I look forward to testing it out.

The game was on Greenlight, but it has passed the marks needed and will be coming to Steam.

No word on release date yet, but it looks like it was built with Construct 2.

About the game (official description)
In the wild lands, in the midst of the forest, a tower emerges from the woods. There, an evil entity, known as The Sin Eater, extends its shadows. The watchtower is long abandoned, but now an old farmer lives there and guards it with fierceness from the hordes of putrid creatures sent by the Sin Eater. However, this is not a common tower, it has many secrets unknown even by the keeper. But what are these secrets? What power this tower possess? And what are the keeper motivations to continue fighting and protecting this mysterious tower?

The Keeper is a side-scrolling survival action game that features boss battles and a combat system focused on combos, executions, defense and counterattacks. Also, it includes passage of time where the scenes switch between day and night. By the day, the keeper can hunt, go fishing, cut trees, explore the surroundings of the tower in search of resources and many other things for his subsistence. The fights usually take place at night when the creatures of Sin Eater appear.

Thanks for the tip Bronsky!

I like how it is reminiscent of Kingdom, but in an action/RPG style strategy fighting sort of way.
I hope they add more characters and fighting styles. i'm thinking of maybe some sort of monk style fighting as well. would be interesting to see a magic wielding type of fighter also. so many interesting possibilities here.
I'll keep my eye on it for sure :)
