It's that time of the year folks, as Steam has cut the prices on tons of awesome games! Make sure your wallet is prepared.
As usual, the Steam website is up and down constantly as it struggles with demand for games! If you be patient and refresh a few times it does eventually work, but it will calm down in a few hours.
To preempt any "you missed x game": There's thousands of games on sale right now, but these below are my choice picks for you to check out if you haven't already.
Games
* Insurgency - 80%
* Cities: Skylines - 75% off
* PAYDAY 2 - 75% off
* Invisible, Inc. - 70% off
* Mad Max - 66%
* Retro-Pixel Castles - 50% off
* PAC-MAN 256 (60% off) gets a special mention as I think it's a fantastic arcade game. My son has been playing it with me a little and he really gets into it. If you have kids, this is one to buy.
Hardware
* The Steam Link has a massive 60% off, which really is an absolute steal!
* The Steam Controller is once again on sale with 30%. I can still recommend it after having two since release.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
I think it's time to face the fact that all I really want I already have. Few games I have some interest in are still more expensive than what I'm willing to pay to try them out.
So, I'm thinking of spending 5 euros to honor a developer of a classic, even if I don't necessarily plan to play that game. But now is the question which one, Baldur's Gate EE, Metro Redux bundle or Oddworld remake?

I purchased Deus Ex Mankind Divided yesterday for my steam Linux account...
I already got Mad Max on a Humble Monthly Bundle and I activate it on my Steam Linux account...
I was about to purchase it as a gift, but in bundlestars is a lot more cheapest...
And... I will buy Rise of the Tomb Raider for my Windows steam account...
Sadly, that game will not be ported to Linux anytime soon... I can wait a few months, but not two more years.

Just bought Mad Max. Thinking about getting the latest Deus Ex, but I doubt my system can handle it. Thanks Feral!

Quoting: PieGamer314I just got Antichamber and CS:GO. I still can't believe Antichamber was only 3 USD!
Thanks for the Antichamber tip! One look and I'm sold.

Dammit, they're killing me on Mad Max. I decided to do the good thing and buy this on feral and set a price of $15 when it was on sale on Steam. Then Feral had it on sale for $18! So no buy. And now the base price on steam has dropped to $19.99 for some reason and its heavily discounted too but feral have it 50% off on $29.99 so its $15 there! That's a big price difference!
So now the do something good me is fighting the cheapskate me!

Bagged a couple of gifts for nephews, and spent the rest of my PayPal balance on The Talos Principle and Mad Max. That's two off my wishlist, and at least one I already know I'll enjoy. :)
If I'd had just a couple of euros more, I might have gone for Rocket League instead of Talos...

My choice for today:
GRID Autosport
Antichamber
PAC-MAN 256 (following earlier suggestion)
Alan Wake (for my Windows partition)
The Town of Light (I also have to boot Windows for this)
Steam Link is pretty cheap now. Grab it if you can. I don't recommend Steam Contoller tho. I had better time with xbox 360 controller even on Linux.

I have like 2321 Linux games in my Steam Library so I dont know if I will buy something yet but I guess I will spent my 50 euro getting some indie games on sale that I will probably never play.
The good thing is that my 2 year contract with my local mobile company has expire today and I can get around 800 Euro of goodies.
So I have decided to get a Playstation 4 1TB and a Samsung Smart TV 4k 43" just to play DarkSouls 3 , Uncharted and some other games I like on PS4!

I've bough The Following DLC for Dying Light. Not a bad deal at 8 euro I think.

Well, I might be getting more, but a couple of days early I got:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on Steam sale for £13.19 (67% off)
I highly recommend Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition £15.99 (60% off)
Already own that game, this is one of the lowest prices I've seen it. Sunk 130 hours into it so far.
As mentioned by "pb", Dying Light's "The Following" DLC is also up for grabs, cheap, if you already own the base game.
Just now on the Steam Winter sale I picked up:
Satellite Reign for £3.44 (85% off)
This next one I've also picked up recently (on Humble) but it is same price on Steam sale £0.69 (90% off)
Spacebase DF-9
I realise that the game development has been dropped by Double Fine (boo!) but:
- At this price it is very cheap, and I'm happy messing around with it for a few hours in its current status.
- Double Fine released the source to the community, and there is an improved community version to mod the base version.
- Double Fine generously added a copy of their game 'Hack n Slash' as a Steam gift item to my account, once I added Spacebase.
Edit: Just spotted something else, and it is pretty impressive...
Double Fine has a great big bundle of games, most that run on Linux, for £4.78 (92% off - that is a massive discount).
- If I didn't already own more than half the games, I'd be tempted by that.
