We had a post before about Kick Ass Commandos [Steam, Official Site] from another editor, but now I've given it a go in the full version and here's some thoughts.

First up, here's an example of just how nuts it is:

Explosions, explosions everywhere.

The game is destructive and violent and completely over the top in just about every way. You will be seeing the severed heads of your enemies as you annihilate everything possible in each level to reach your goal.

It can get a little challenging, especially since you only directly control one character. During each level you rescue other soldiers who follow your exact movements, but they end up in weird places when you move due to you not controlling them directly. It makes for some amusing firefights that's for sure, it will also lead to them dying rather easily.

It gets so hectic, that I've completely lost where I was at times due to all the blood and explosions going on.

Even the music is completely over the top and heavy with the guitars and drums, but it suits it perfectly. You really do get into the frenzy mode thanks to the action and the music together.

As you progress you unlock different Commandos and each of them can be levelled up. You can increase their health, armour, rate of fire and so on.

If you like the sound of a completely over the top and easy to get into 2D action game, then you should seriously consider taking a look at Kick Ass Commandos. I think it's gloriously bloody fun. At one point I died, blood covered nearly the entire map and my head floated up towards the screen.

If you do pick it up, I highly recommend going straight in on the higher difficulty modes to get the most out of it.

The only thing that bugs me is the "did you like this?" box when you want to quit, so you have to tap quit and then quit again. A minor point, but I don't think reviews should be thrust upon normal people to do. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I have this game sitting in my library since it was on a huge discount in its Early Access phase. After looking at the video I should seriously start playing this game, as I really like what I am seeing :D

I put it off for a little while, but I wish I didn't. It really is amusing!

I picked this up recently on sale @ Humble Bundle. It's a blast. Fast action. Personally I died a lot after say the 3rd level, but it wasn't frustrating to keep going unlike some other games I play.
