Yesss free stuff

The Talos Principle is 75% off. I might grab that.

I was thrilled to see them give away a Linux game this time. Last month they had given away GRID which I eagerly snatched up only to realize that it was Windows-only. :|

Gawd! Another sale to search through all the bargains. Spent most of the evening looking so far. 60 pages and counting so far (starting at high discounts and going down). As I bought the XCOM2 Humble Monthly Subscription, and it is still active I can grab these Sale games for an additional 10% off.

Some of the titles I'm considering (typically 75% - 90% off):

Kings of Kung Fu (steam, early access) £1.52
Braveland Pirate (drmfree, steam, android) £1.07
Solar Shifter EX (steam) £1.34
Heroes of Loot (drmfree, steam) £0.74
Fox & Flock (drmfree, steam) £0.39
LYNE (drmfree, steam, android) £0.67

Also considering some Windows titles - boo ;) - because they're older, not likely to come to Linux, I want them, and can probably play using Wine.

Noting that Wizardry 6 and 7 old games are now available to Linux users on Steam, by packaging them with Dosbox. Wish more games companies would do this with their older titles.

As usual - King of the Discount ;)

I've put quite a number of hours into DiRT Showdown. The port is excellent, and I love racing games that don't try to take themselves seriously.

I'm thinking about buying Mad Max, 66% off also at Humble Bundle.
Seems like a great buy for €6,79 :P
Do it. Much better game than I was expecting.

Very nice game.

This game is best played with others. Single player gets old fast.

Crap, wish my rig could play Mad Max. At this price I'm tempted to buy it anyway, but it will likely be years before I upgrade again so I will surely have other opportunities.

I'm tempted to get the Shadowrun bundle, though. I've yet to play anything in that universe and it has intrigued me for more than a decade now.

There is also an EXCELLENT (IMO) humble bundle going on - the Overwhelmingly Positive Bundle; Pony Island for free, Day of the tentacle on the next tier, and for 10 dollars you get VA-11 Hall-A - those three games are just great.

Also, you can get XCOM2 for 12 dollars when you subscribe to the monthly bundle (for the first time) - and ten percent off that if you bought the Overwhel... bundle first. And then, 10% off in the humble store (where there is a winter sale going on, oh right that is the topic here). Sick deals! If I had 100 dollars I could probably own like all of the games in the world :P

Edit: OH, and you can select Free Software Foundation or Free Software Conservancy as your charity of choice.

So, about Life is Strange. Trailers and videos make it look more like an interactive movie or a choose-your-own-adventure type of deal. Does it have recognizable adventure game elements at all, or is it more like the recent Telltale stuff in the vein of Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. Dialogue puzzles or visual novel type dialogue choices? All I ever hear is people talking about the story and the time rewind gimmick.

Man... I feel guilty if I grab it for $0.00, while paying $80 or so for deus ex.
VP did a great job (still not finished though, no community access, and SR2 lacks some of the audio) with the saints row series.

If you don't already have DiRT showdown, now is your last chance to get it.

Word is the licensing is about to expire on them, which means they will no longer be available for sale. Just like Grid, DiRT3 and F1 (Grid also got given away for free just before its license expired):

Just had a look at your Info specs. 8GB RAM, Core i5, and GTX 560. I don't think you'll have problems managing with Mad Max on your current rig as long as you don't set the graphics quality too high. Also, note that it only takes a graphics card to take you up a notch. GTX 1050ti 4GB is nice, cheap, and low power.

Crap, wish my rig could play Mad Max. At this price I'm tempted to buy it anyway, but it will likely be years before I upgrade again so I will surely have other opportunities.

Thanks for taking the time to look that up :) I'm looking to buy a car, so I definitely won't be investing in gaming for a while even if it's just the GPU. I'll just bide my time, I'm used to it :)

Got free DiRT key. Is this game eON/Wine port? I'm surprised: game works like a charm, more ports like this one.

It's a port by VP, so eON. Works fine indeed and is plenty of fun.

I have to second the previous remarks about DiRT Showdown being a good port - it performs very well on my pretty mediocre hardware, with foss radeon driver no less. Nice! I'd forgotten that I kinda like racing game's actually, used to love the Burnout series.
