Wine-Staging have released their 2.0-rc6 release and it brings in some more D3D11 work further pushing what can be run with Wine.

What's new in this release:
- Emulation of deferred rendering contexts and other d3d11 enhancements.
- Improvements for reading ole32 property storages.
- Various fixes for smaller Wine bugs.

See the release announcement here.

I will be looking to test out Wine-Staging to report on it some more, but I am waiting for Arch to get rc6 to let you know if things like Overwatch do any better (girlfriend owns a copy I will borrow). Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Has anyone tried witcher 3, lately? The bug report for the
game was talking about 'deferred rendering contexts'.
If I read it right, this should get it to work.

I'm currently playing Dragon's Dogma using WINE Staging 2.0rc5 + CSMT and it works like a charm, very impressed. It works better using Gallium Nine patches, but is less stable.

That's some good news for sure !
Did anyone know if codeweaver is still putting some effort on D3D11 support ?

I don't know, but proper DX11 support should be one of the higher priorities for WINE right now. Maybe the only one for the time being. WINE is getting increasingly irrelevant for gamers, as it's currently unable to run most modern games. Not even with the usual hiccups we're used to when running games in WINE, but simply not at all. Games are using DX11 these days and have been for a while. Meh, even older ones are sometimes losing WINE support these days, when the devs make updates to their graphics. Elder Scrolls Online and Star Trek Online used to run in WINE and no longer do.
