Linux users will be able to enjoy Full Throttle Remastered this year, but not until after the Windows version has released.

Thanks to our twitter follower for linking us to this forum topic from DoubleFine where it's confirmed:
QuoteFor the question of platforms, we have a contract deadline we have to hit for early-ish next year, so we are focusing our effort on PS4, Vita and Windows for launch. After the initial launch we will be fixing bugs and addressing the feedback from the community (like we did for DOTT) while also working on the OSX, Linux and iOS versions. Trust me, we would love to release everything on day-one, but we are a pretty small team and don't want to compromise the quality of the game by spreading ourselves too thin.

Full Throttle was originally released in 1995, so like the Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle Remastered editions Full Throttle will also see a massive revamp. It will update pretty much everything, so graphics, sound and so on.

Are you excited? I've never played the original. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

A nice remastered art from one of the users on Double Fine forums
This is not art from the remastered edition. This is fan art made many years ago. Here's a forum thread for it.

Yes, that's what I said - from one of the forum users. It's not from Double Fine. Great work nevertheless.

Oh, I see. My apologies. I had read your post as though you were talking about art from the remastered version that was shared on the forums by a forum user (that sort of thing has happened before - when the remastered edition was first announced, some news sites shared it, saying that it was a screenshot).

It's a little bit too "shiny" for my tastes/perspectives on Full Throttle, but it's a lovely piece regardless :)

I remember playing Full Throttle back in the day. This remake has my interest!

Heck yeah! That's some phantastic news!

I enjoyed playing the game back in 1995 and would love to play it again.
Hope though that the player will again be able to choose between the remastered and old graphics as I do prefer the original pixel graphics over any revamped graphics.

Double Fine new motto: "We can't finish our new games, so we just remake them from 20 years ago! Just give us money pls!"
Just to shed some light here, Double Fine is a studio that has multiple teams working on concurrent projects.

So far, every remastered project that Double Fine has been followed by the release of an original title (Massive Chalice followed Grim Fandango Remastered and Headlander followed Day of the Tentacle Remastered). Rhombus of Ruin will come out before Full Throttle Remastered, but since that's not out yet, a 1:1 ratio feels fair :)

Is Tim Schafer going to make a sequel to Full Throttle?

Has anyone else played this game so many times that you speed run through skipping half the game by kicking the wall and not going to the vulture hangout?

By the way, if anybody has any questions about the game (including more detailed questions about Linux support), there's a Q&A thread up to collect stuff that the team will be providing answers for in a little while.

On the off chance that there's anybody subscribed to these comments who hasn't caught wind that the Linux port is out now, here's a relevant post :)
