Looks like everyone is going to be happy with this one. Feral Interactive have announced the system requirements for HITMAN [Steam] ahead of the release next week. AMD & NVIDIA are supported.
Minimum
Intel Core i5-2500K/AMD FX-8350
Ubuntu 16.04 or Steam OS 2.0
8GB RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 680/AMD R9 270X graphics card or better.*
Recommended
Intel Core i7 3770
Ubuntu 16.10 or Steam OS 2.0
16GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 970/AMD R9 290 graphics card or better.*
*NVIDIA graphics cards require driver version 375.28. AMD graphics cards require MESA 13.0.3 or better. Intel graphics cards will not be supported on release.
HITMAN will be released for Linux on February 16th, so not long to go. Are you as excited as I am?
I am hoping to do a livestream on the day of release, as usual. Keep an eye on our Twitch page: http://www.twitch.tv/gamingonlinux

I've proven system requirements wrong before, hope I can do it again. :)

Lets see how the graphics are degraded or the performance holds up for the port. It's feral, so it'll probably be reasonable... but I'm rather amazed by the low requirements... given how it looks and the amount of stuff going on at once, I would think a 1070 would be recommended. But we'll see. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, another title which to buy then. :)

Uhh, AMD support again <3. I'm regretting less and less switching.
Though, still having issues due to my RX460 probably being a bit .. "too new" and a lot of distros don't support it properly due to old kernels etc. :D.

Quoting: Xpanderreally? Deus Ex MD runs good? i have places where fps drops down to 25, which is unacceptable.. no matter how low u put my settings.. and i have GTX 1070. Same with Mad Max, rare places, some camps where looking at some specific angles fps tanks to 19-25fps, while other than that its mostly 70+ FPSI saw these drops in ShadowSigyns stream with Tom Raider. She got a GTX 1070. I see the same drops with my GTX 970. And that's why I wonder if it's worth buying a new card at all. There seems to be a bottle neck, which limits the fps on the OpenGL ports, no matter which card one uses.

The bottleneck is likely the CPU, more specifically single thread CPU performance. I suspect (didn't actually bother checking) that the added overhead of the OpenGL translation causes a relatively high load in one of the threads and causes latency that limits the fps.

Quoting: eldersnakeThis game will be interesting on my system.
I run latest Mesa git, have an AMD 380X GPU. 16GB RAM. So no probs there.
But my CPU is Intel Pentium G4560 (Kaby Lake), so I guess the equivelent-ish of a Core i3.
Well the g4560 runs hitman fine under windows judging by gameplay videos on youtube
