They plan to release Hitman for Linux on Thursday 16th of February, so be sure mark your calendars.
This is amazing, as we get Civilization VI from Aspyr Media, Hitman and then DiRT Rally both from Feral Interactive in the space of about a month. All three games I'm incredibly excited to see on Linux, as all of them big franchises for us to have to keep moving forward.
I told you this year was going to be good, so don't doubt me eh!
I'm nearly out of hard-drive space, I'm actually going to have to buy an new hard drive just for games, on Linux, insanity.
David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral InteractiveHitman is a franchise that has defined the stealth genre, and this game is very much a return to the series’ roots. It’s been a long wait to get a Hitman title onto Linux, but I can’t think of a better way than this to introduce the series to Linux gamers.
Feral have confirmed it will be an OpenGL title, so no Vulkan at launch. Of course, it's entirely possible they may update it in future to use Vulkan.
It will cost £39.99/$59.99/€49.99 for the whole season, but episodes can be purchased individually.

All these and lets not forget Torment Tides of Numera is coming out this month also. I'll pick up Hitman as soon as it's released for linux even though I've never played one of the series games before. Feral you are the best.God damn, I keep forgetting about that one myself.

Well isn't this nice not only is Feral porting games to Linux at the speed of a cheetah ;) and please by all means don't stop. But they are effectively helping me in sorting out my gaming schedule for the rest of the first quarter :)
Just as I was getting bored of Pac-Man 256, Bandai Namco added another Linux game to their humble bundle, Attractio, which looks very interesting and should keep me busy until Hitman sneaks into my Steam Library next week. Which I'm sure will keep me busy for the next two weeks until Dirt Rally comes flying into my library to keep me busy for the next 2 or 3 weeks thereafter.
So all in all thanks Feral for all the great games, and all the best for the rest of 2017. Not just in porting a ton of games as I'm sure you've already planned but also in landing more developers and publishers this year. Now I know, a lot of Western developers and publishers are closed to Linux as a platform due to outdated views and mindsets. Yes I'm looking at you EA, Ubisoft and Bathesda.
But here's really hoping you guys can get some deals with either Capcom, Konami or Bandai Namco because Resident Evil, Metal Gear and Tekken. Also they tend to make a lot of console exclusive games still and technically Steam machines are consoles ;) and let's face it having games on Steam with just a SteamOS badge can help grow Linux quite a bit. But I'm gonna stop now because I'm just talking myself all excited now :)

According to Steam review, it doesn't seem so good. Overall 67% (11k reviews) and Recents 79% (almost 600).
Ignore user "reviews". Trust the professional reviews. They give the series a solid 80+ metascore, with certain episodes up in the 90s.
Seriously, ignore the user reviews. All they got is a "up"/"down" switch to rate with. And typically they will thub it down because some detail annoy them (like episodic content). There's just -NO- nuances in an accumulated user "review" score.

They already confirmed last year that Deus Ex MD will be their first Vulkan title (that they will add Vulkan support for the game in Spring 2017).@Feral: Will it be vulkan? Are there any vulkan ports to be announcet right now? :)
I asked on Facebook. They said its opengl. Vulkan is coming later in the year, it wasn't clear if they are planning Vulkan for an unreleased game or for titles like Hitman and Dues Ex that have a DX12 back end already.
To clarify, we haven't announced what our first Vulkan game will be, nor a timescale of spring. We're aiming to get a Vulkan game out in the first half of this year.
If you got Vulkan tangled up with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, that's because we talked about Vulkan during a Deus Ex: Mankind Divided live stream. Which was nice and confusing, woo.

This is great news.
So we now have Dirt Rally, Civ 6 and Hitman that are due to be released. I have never played any of the Hitman games so I am really looking forward to playing this one. I guess I will soon need to book a week of work.

Eh, their next big port is probably Rise of the Tomb Raider, and that could very well be Vulkan although I wouldn't take that as sacrosanct.

You might try Insurgency or Ballistic Overkill. They're really good. As for that DOOM itch, I find that Shadow Warrior 2013 does a pretty good job.

Wow! This is the game I was waiting for on Linux since its announcement on Windows and actually asked Feral several times! <3
Actually I was thinking about giving up and buy it for Windows, as the complete edition was out and nothing announced for Linux. Now I know I will get it in a few days! I just have to buy a new HDD, possibly 4To to keep up with all those ports :D
This teaches a lesson: Never lose hope on Feral Interactive, they are the one porting the greatest games! Thank you guys!
As far as our MacOS pals are concerned, it's a wee strange, but I feel that being on Linux is better than being on MacOS for gaming these days. Wish you guys the best and hope you're going to be able to play it! :|

No reason to really lose hope on a Linux ports nowadays, pretty soon on any game! Linux gaming is notably starting to gather wind under its tiny wings :)

I recently had a crazy though about this one: Remember the Steam Summer Gateway trading cards from a few years back? They all represent Linux games. All but Skyrim. This, plus some other anecdotal evidence like early Steam Boxes/Controllers promotional videos let me think that a port was actually planned, then cancelled; although it was probably well underway (and running, if you want my opinion, unless they experienced big technical hurdles, which I don't expect). So, what happened for them to cancel the Steam OS launch? Steam OS "failure" as a platform (I feel like it will come back, but not yet)? That's a bit of the usual chicken and egg problem, though (which is getting better with the increasing number of games available). WTF, Feral? You guys are way too fast for me. I used to be able to play and finish every game that was out on Linux, and then to play it over again before a new one went out. I am starting to wonder if I should start cherry-picking my Linux games instead of buying everything in bulk (to be fair, I stopped doing this some time ago, there are now too many Linux games).
Well, I will go on for now, anyway. You guys rock.

PS: I'm a bit confused that Feral lately only ports titles that are "Mixed" on the review side at best. Might it be "Deus Ex" or "Hitman". I think that might also have an influence on copies sold, probably aiming for some good rated games would be an idea.
