Awesome news to start the day, not only is Torment now available, but it seems like Telltale's 'The Walking Dead' [Steam] may be heading to Linux.

This is amazing, seriously. I am a huge TWD fan having watched every episode available in the UK and even reading some of the comics. Having this on Linux will be fantastic, as it's another game I've held off buying on any platform in the hopes to one day see it on Linux.

News comes from SteamDB where this popped up:
QuoteChanged Depots
207613/config/oslist: linux
207613/name: The Walking Dead Depot

I've reached out to my contact at Telltale to see if we can get a comment, or a confirmation.

For those that don't know, it's an episodic adventure game where your decisions matter. With it set in the same world as The Walking Dead, but with a new set of characters. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: arvigeus
Quoting: subThe first two seasons were quite entertaining.
Considering how notoriously buggy their games are on Windows, I'm wondering how this would translate on Linux

What are you talking about?

I had perfectly no issue with the first two seasons.
Additionally, "Wolf Among Us", "Back to the Future" and
"Tales from the Borderlands" ran absolutely flawless on Windows.

Besides in my experience, almost all games available for
Windows and Linux run better on Windows.
Still waiting and hoping for that to change.
We're still not there.

Pragmatic dual booting solves that issue for me,
compared to dogmatically reducing my options.
I'm sick of the later.

I was given season 1 & 2, never played them but I will if they ever release on Linux, hopefully I'll be finished Hitman by then.

The Wolf Among Us was my first Telltale game and it was amazing. It would be nice if the entire Telltale catalog was ported.

The great thing is that all telltale games run on the same engine, so if you can port one, it shouldn't be hard to port the whole lot. I'm currently playing my way through Tales From The Borderlands on my Windows laptop. It's a great game!

I completed the 1st season of TWD on Wine when it was ongoing (worked flawlessly). That's a solid... well, 3D visual novel, I suppose. It has great characters and moral choices with consequences, several puzzles and lots of cutscenes, sometimes with Quick Time Events. Kinda like Life is Strange but without time travel quirks and such.

I wouldn't mind give it another go if it's ported and I also didn't know there's more seasons! Yes, they use their own in-house engine named Telltale Tool (wew, creative). I think once ported they could quite easily port the rest. I only played TWD though but heard a lot of good about their other titles.

I beat Borderlands, didn't play much of 2, and never played Pre Sequel. In order to understand Tales, do I need to play all of them?

Played through the first game on the PS3 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I own both, the first and second season now on GOG.com. The game works great in wine but it would be a blast to have it natively on Linux.
